(I was in the mood to be mean for some reason and so I chose violence)

I bring The Vulture up again because I’ve been addicted to Tomadachi Life LTD for the last couple weeks and I finally made HER. I just made her a few minutes ago and she’s already my favourite mii. LOOK AT HER SHE’S SO CUTEEE

When I was reading CQs The Vulture one thing I noticed that immediately made me love it is that the main character isn’t who you would immediately expect the main character to be. Like, let’s look at two of the characters from this book;

Clarimonde, the 40-something year old mom who has an established role in her society, and

Iris, Clarimonde’s daughter who’s 17 years old with minor anger issues and a rebellious streak.

Seriously, it’s obvious which one would be the main character if The Vulture was another generic YA fantasy/dystopia novel about a young girl becoming a warrior and rising up against power.

But The Vulture isn’t a generic YA novel, it’s Crayonqueen’s book about a middle aged mom with a valued role in society, and it’s obvious that she’s supposed to rebel later in the story not because she’s a generic teenage girl warrior protagonist, but because she’s a hero who wants to do the right thing. She’s not who you think of first when you think “main hero,” but she’s the main character anyways because this isn’t like that other booktok nonsense.

Today I'm trying to get myself back into making work for myself, not just for cons (Or perhaps not just reading all day lol) so I opened up Clip Studio and just. Started messing with the charcoal pen, the dry ink pen, literally just whatever I wanted to do to draw my OC Vulture, or her real name Clarimonde.

My creative slump has been SUPER bad (As you can tell from my lack of posts on here!) but I'm trying to get myself out of it with no pressure pieces.

Also all the bugs are just cockroaches that I moved around the legs and shortened the body to turn them into something new. Did a bunch of charcoal and color work to make them fit with the piece.

I rarely draw such messy dark images but MAN its very fun and freeing!! I hope yall like it <3
