What's even more bullshit about the AI scam is that it's the same shit capitalists have been pulling since forever. Create a problem (AI taking over everything, making the internet unsafe, throw in some concerns for the children for flavor), and then sell a solution to that problem that benefits them and keeps them in power (all the dystopian ID verification laws that are getting passed remarkably quickly even in countries where the legal system is known to take ages to get anything done, laws that won't protect anyone but will make it harder for people to see content that goes against the party line without being surveilled, or to say what they want without getting arrested for it).
The same people who are making billions off of generative AI are the ones passing these laws. It's the same people. That's not a coincidence. That's not stupidity or oversight or a sudden misguided shift in perspective. That is by design. It's on purpose. This was always the plan.

I refuse to use your mobile app bc I will not be forced to watch an ad every 2 minutes with ads taking up more real estate than the videos on your video platform. Youtube fucking sucks but you knowâŚmonopoly and whatnot.
