🍺 Fresh from the tap… but in bricks! Just uploaded the Pantasy Craft Brewery 3,266 pieces, no stickers, all printed parts, and even working moving parts like rotating barrels and a conveyor belt. This isn’t just a display piece, it’s a living part of any LEGO city!

I haven’t placed it in my city yet, but it’s already one of my favorite builds this year. Would you add a brewery like this to your layout? 🍻

Personal finance, chicken husbandry, Kitty’s dirty secrets…no question is off-limits!

I made a quick circuit of some Raleigh, N.C. breweries (and one in Durham) last week. It was a whirlwind, but there are great things going on in The Triangle. My favorites were Little City and Brewery Bhavana, both in the heart of Raleigh.

Little City has a wide open, well appointed, bright space and some nice outdoor seating on a quiet corner slightly removed from downtown. The beer and the setting were right up my alley. Their hoppy stuff was wonderful, the DDH Parking Boot (pictured) was an aromatic and creamy delight.

Bhavana, meanwhile, is creating a spectacular vibe and beer to match in the heart of downtown. Skylights brings daylight streaming into the center of their taproom and restaurant space, which also features a shop that sells books, flowers, tea and glassware, among other items. The bar staff was terrific, very knowledgeable about the beer and also just super accommodating and eager to offer suggestions and samples. The beer is very, very good. You know that thing at a brewery where after just a few tastes you start to get the feeling that everything you try is going to be right on point? Well, this is that kind of place. You can tell a lot of thought and intention has gone into crafting their soft, subtle, often complex but sometimes very simple, balanced and well executed beers. The vibe might be a little hipstery for some people, but the staff is awesome and the beer is worth any minor cultural annoyance.

Clouds and Trophy in Raleigh and Fullsteam in Durham were also killer spots, I did not have a beer that I didn't really enjoy the whole day. But the bar was high on this quick and carefully curated tour, so I’m not going to go into specifics in this post. Sufficed to say I highly recommend all five places I visited to anyone who wants a good starting point for sampling the best beer in The Triangle.
