Out for a walk through Newport today when I saw this. I know it’s a simple gesture, but it actually made my eyes well up with tears. It’s really hard not being able to interact with other people during this lockdown, but things like this remind me of why we’re doing it; to save people’s lives. So as much as I personally don’t like it (who does?) it’s for the greater good, and we’ll get through this eventually. I’m proud of my fellow citizens doing what they can to protect themselves but more importantly to protect the lives of others. Although losing anyone is awful.. at least we can be grateful that, in the entire country, we’ve only lost 1002 people to COVID during the last 18 months. Knowing that we’re doing the right thing puts it all in perspective. The inconvenience of masks, check-ins, and social distancing is just that; an inconvenience.
