GOLDEN WELLS — “LEAVING THE REARVIEW” IS OUT NOW
Wells Gold #58 is stepping into a new lane.
SONG:
Introducing Golden Wells, the country-music side of Wells Gold: heartfelt, road-worn, reflective, and still unmistakably GOLD.
His new release, “Leaving the Rearview,” is a inspired country ballad built around one simple idea: sometimes moving forward does not mean erasing what came before. It means accepting it, learning from it, and finally choosing the road ahead.
The song follows Wells as he packs away the remnants of a relationship with another man, climbs into his Chevy, and drives out into the night. Every mile takes him farther from the version of himself that kept replaying the past. In the music video, memories of his former boyfriend appear in the rearview mirror: laughing together, sitting shoulder-to-shoulder, sharing quiet moments, arguing, and eventually saying goodbye.
But Wells does not destroy those memories.
He lets them exist.
They were real. They mattered. They shaped him.
They just do not get to steer anymore.
As the night becomes morning, the memories slowly disappear from the mirror until Wells is left with nothing behind him but open road. By sunrise, the grief has become gratitude, and the road ahead finally feels like his own.
“You were a chapter, but you ain’t the whole book.”
That line sits at the heart of Golden Wells.
Music Video
This is country music about men loving men without turning that love into tragedy. It is about heartbreak without shame, masculinity without emotional silence, and finding strength in finally letting yourself heal.
The sound is warm acoustic guitar, piano, pedal steel, fiddle, and a slow-building country rhythm that grows into a huge final chorus. Think headlights on an empty highway, coffee in a roadside diner, rain across a windshield, worn denim, an old Chevy, and golden sunrise spilling across miles of open country.
And when the final lyric arrives,
“Ain’t no room for yesterday… Just open highway… And a brand new day.”
Wells tilts the rearview mirror toward the sky.
Nothing erased.
Nothing denied.
Just a man who is finally ready to keep driving.
Golden Wells has arrived.
New road. New sound.
If this one hits somewhere personal, ride with it. Leave something behind. Take something useful with you. Then keep moving forward.
LYRICS:
[Intro]
[Verse 1]
I FINALLY PACKED THE BOX THAT SAT IN THE HALL,
TOOK DOWN THE PICTURES OFF THE BEDROOM WALL.
FOUND YOUR OLD SWEATER IN THE BACK OF THE DRAWER,
AND FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS, IT DON'T HURT ANYMORE.
I USED TO SPEND NIGHTS TRYING TO REWRITE THE PAST,
WONDERING WHY GOOD THINGS CAN'T EVER LAST.
BUT HOLDING ON TO GHOSTS IS A HEAVY LOAD TO BEAR,
AND TONIGHT I'M FINALLY GETTING OUT OF THERE!
[Pre-Chorus]
I TURNED THE KEY IN THE CHEVY TONIGHT,
STEPPED ON THE GAS UNDER THE STREETLIGHT.
NO LOOKING BACK AT WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN,
IT'S TIME FOR A BRAND NEW ROAD TO BEGIN!
[Chorus 1]
I'M LEAVING THAT HEARTACHE IN A CLOUD OF DUST!
SHAKING OFF THE PAIN AND THE RUST!
I WISH YOU THE BEST AND I WISH YOU THE LIGHT,
BUT I'M DRIVING INTO MY OWN FUTURE TONIGHT!
THE STORM IS BEHIND ME, THE SKY IS COMING CLEAR,
AND THERE AIN'T NO ROOM FOR YESTERDAY HERE!
[Verse 2]
I STOPPED AT A DINER ON THE EDGE OF TOWN,
ORDERED A COFFEE AND WATCHED THE SUN GO DOWN.
FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME, MY CHEST FEELS LIGHT,
NO SHADOWS HAUNTING ME INTO THE NIGHT.
YOU WERE A CHAPTER, BUT YOU AIN'T THE WHOLE BOOK,
AND I'M PROUD OF THE RISKS THAT MY POOR HEART TOOK.
[Pre-Chorus 2]
I TURNED THE KEY IN THE CHEVY TONIGHT,
STEPPED ON THE GAS UNDER THE STREETLIGHT.
NO LOOKING BACK AT WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN,
IT'S TIME FOR A BRAND NEW ROAD TO BEGIN!
[Chorus 2]
I'M LEAVING THAT HEARTACHE IN A CLOUD OF DUST!
SHAKING OFF THE PAIN AND THE RUST!
I WISH YOU THE BEST AND I WISH YOU THE LIGHT,
BUT I'M DRIVING INTO MY OWN FUTURE TONIGHT!
THE STORM IS BEHIND ME, THE SKY IS COMING CLEAR,
AND THERE AIN'T NO ROOM FOR YESTERDAY HERE!
[Bridge]
THANK YOU FOR THE GOOD TIMES, AND THANK YOU FOR THE PAIN,
THEY BOTH TAUGHT ME HOW TO STAND IN THE RAIN.
BUT I'M DONE LIVING IN WHAT USED TO BE…
I'M FINALLY SETTING ME FREE!
[Final Chorus]
I'M LEAVING THAT HEARTACHE IN A CLOUD OF DUST!
SHAKING OFF THE PAIN AND THE RUST!
I WISH YOU THE BEST AND I WISH YOU THE LIGHT,
BUT I'M DRIVING INTO MY OWN FUTURE TONIGHT!
THE STORM IS BEHIND ME, THE SKY IS COMING CLEAR,
AND THERE AIN'T NO ROOM FOR YESTERDAY HERE!
[Outro]
Ain't no room for yesterday…
Just open highway…
And a brand new day.

I enjoyed this book “Cross Roads ” by @nicoledauthor This book was a okay read ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️✔️ Book Review: Nicole dykes never disappoint me. If I ever gave her books a 4 or 3 star ⭐️ it has to be a good reason. Especially if I considered it boring!!! But I wasn’t bored or uninterested in this book at all I liked Emerson and Jasper together. I knew that Emerson was going to bring it out of Jasper.…
