OKAY IDGAF IF NO ONE SEES THIS I NEED TO ANALYZE THIS (ish) MKAY
(there’s a tl;dr if you don’t want to read 8 paragraphs.)
the short film
So it opens and the closeted dude is like ‘AAAAH run away from guy crush’ and jumps into the bushes and hides up in a tree while guy crush walks by and he smiles and is just so happy to see guy crush and it’s so nice and then he whacks his head on a branch, which makes the slightest little noise and guy crush turns around so closeted boi shrinks down and hides in the tree so no one sees him, while his heart is going crazy from both anxiety and love, quite literally beating out of his chest, where then he has to hold it back to keep it from bursting his shirt, also kinda muffling it.
Guy crush turns around, no longer suspicious, and then closeted boi‘s heart jumps into reality and flies out of his collar, trying to drag him to guy crush like a lil kid (IS SO ADORABLE) and like Guy crush has been tossing an apple up and down and so the smol lil kid-like heart runs in and replaces the apple and guy crush doesn’t notice, so closeted boi sneakily runs up to retrieve his stolen heart, which guy crush was about to take a bite out of because he didn’t realize his apple was gone, where the heart disappears and closeted boi accidentally grabs guy crush’s hand, then quickly pulls away after he realizes what he’s done because AWKWARDDDD, then he again tries to grab his heart, resulting in running around his boy crush and eventually grabbing his heart around boy crush, basically hugging him. Again, ADORABLE.
So a dude is coming up at a regular pace from off frame and Closeted boi doesn’t wanna be embarrassed so he jumps with his heart in his hands into a trash can (ME) and boi crush waves a normal greeting like nothing’s going on, then tries to look at the trash can kinda like ‘is he gonna come out and explain himself or hug me more’ but the bell rings before anything further happens so guy crush, with a concerned look on his face, walks into the building reading his copy of Oscar Wilde’s “The Adventures of Dorian Gay”.
Lil childish heart opens up the lid of the trash can and he and closeted boi peek out, whereto (is that the right way to use that) the heart tries pulling him to the school against his will and heart slides in after guy crush, so closeted boi has no choice but to go in after it. Closeted boi opens school doors and heart is rubbing up against guy crush’s face who seems to have been pushed to the ground by kid heart. Closeted boi grabs his heart by the hand but heart really doesn’t wanna let go of guy crush so he grabs onto guy crush’s finger in defiance.
(That portion is lowkey relatable OOPS)
And then the kids around them are kinda looking in disgust like ‘wtf they’re gay’ or ‘wtf why’re they doing this here’ so closeted boi is really embarrassed (guy crush just looks disappointed in the student body at this point, not really concerned with closeted boi) and the heart slowly cracks down the middle. Closeted boi realizes what’s up and is like merp with embarrassment so he gives his heart one final tug because it won’t let go of guy crush and it snaps in half and loses its personification and closeted boi runs out of the school while guy crush sits saddened on the floor with half of closeted boi’s heart.
Cut to closeted boi sitting behind the tree that was once his hiding place, at a later time of day. He cups up the half of his heart that he has left and looks up in defeat, very close to tears. Guy crush is standing on the other side of the bush looking worried and closeted boi tilts his head a little and sees him, then cowers down in fear worried that he was seen and wipes off his eyes while he hopes guy crush went away.
Guy crush comes up and crouches down, closeted boi all tense because he doesn’t wanna get scolded, then guy crush tries to grab at closeted boi’s hand to get the other half of the broken heart, but closeted boi pulls away, then realizes what’s happening and realizes that guy crush looks concerned instead of angry and guy crush grins. With very very shaky hands, closeted boi opens his hands and presents broken half of his heart to guy crush (professing his love once and for all?) and guy crush puts the half that he’s had with the half presented to him together in closeted boi’s hands and squeezes his hands together. Heart fixes and springs back to life looking surprised.
Guy crush pushes hands back to closeted boi so he can have his heart back, and heart shakes off smiling super wide like the smol it is, finally making closeted boi smile a little instead of being so tense and worried. Guy crush slides up next to closeted boi against the hiding place of a tree and heart smiles even wider. Closeted boi’s smile progressively gets bigger and he FINALLY looks up like he’s comfortable with the whole thing and it ends with closeted boi and guy crush smiling and looking into each others eyes, closeted boi holding his heart in his hands. Slowly the heart turns into just a pink glow and guy crush gets a pink glow too. The picture slowly goes away and only leave the two hearts, which combine to make one pure lil glowing adorable heart which beats a couple times before the credits roll.
TL;DR
Chill person is going about life one day when they suddenly accidentally steal someone’s heart’s attention. Stolen heart person acts quickly and ends up making a fool of themself. Then the foolishness accidentally turns public but the heart won’t let go of the chill person. Embarrassed stolen heart person sees no choice but to break their own heart and runs away broken hearted. Chill person is all concerned and worried but also probably slightly impressed by the courage in embarrassed person, so Chill person makes amends and the two establish a nice relationship.
