I fell in love with history in middle school while learning about slavery, the civil war and reconstruction. As I got older my love of that time increased with all the research and reading I’ve done on my own on that era. We’re going through a time where the reasons for the civil war for some damn reason are being disputed. The “lost cause” history is a false narrative. Americas economy was built on largely on Black farmers and to have the opportunity to tell the story of Black farmers tied to our nations history in cotton farming is a blessing. Driving through The countryside and seeing cotton fields all around me was a surreal experience. I’m excited to continue to work with @blackcotton.us and look forward to sharing his families legacy. . . #photojournalism #reportage #blackfarmers #farming #cottonfarmers #cottonfarming #cotton #blackcotton #agriculture #UShistory #americanhistory #africanamericanlegacy
