My favorites from the #SierraMadreArtFair I bought a piece by #NairobiTony #CosmicCouple I've always been drawn to #blackandwhite whether it's because it's visually striking, it the #symbolism that goes along with it, or myself being a #mixed person. This stood out immediately and claimed me as its owner. The other pieces I fell in love with were more of a style, a movement, an ideology. #LuciaFriedericy is a #figurative artist creating #3D #dolls with #framed habitats. Passing by, well more accurately... Walking from afar we saw this booth and made a B-line toward it stunned by nearly every piece contained within. I absolutely love this concept. These figures have personalities so big they quite literally cannot be contained by the frame . They sit comfortably within them yet reach out, peek around corners, interact with each other, and I did indeed swear that when one feel from it's perch that it had grown a soul and was escaping to live it's own life. The believable irony being that it was #Pinocchio. (You were a real boy in that moment to me.) When speaking with the artist she stated that for her faces are what makes it finalizes the character. Once that's right the personality flows through. She also stated that women are harder to get right. Well to that I hope she feels proud because the #personality indeed flows through. The main reason I stopped was because I saw #FridaKahlo which I knew would spark @rudy.cole29 's interest. It was then that I found #PabloPicasso for @adrianwongshue, #VincentVanGogh for @skeletalextraction and she found #SalvadorDali for me. After that my eyes were opened to the wonderland that was everything else.
