Selling corsages!
Hi all,
As I've previously talked about on here, I'm having financial (and especially car trouble). While I'm working on that from multiple angles, including crowdfunding, they will likely take some time. However, a comment from a customer at my job the other day reminded me that the corsages I make to wear for myself may actually be something sellable (she quite liked the one I was wearing).
I cannot really buy much by way of new materials for making them, but I previously built up a good bit of stock and have the supplies to make quite a few. These three shown here are "batch one", as it were, all for sale, and all made today using flowers and ribbons I already had. I can add things to them, such as more ribbon loops, beetles (pictured below), more leaves, etc. I actually have a pretty large collection of assorted leaves and could even make a corsage out of those alone, for a potentially more masculine look. For now shipping will be limited to the US due to (gestures) fuckery. I will also be making a few more corsages from the materials I already have, and am willing to work to design a custom one from those materials (+ handmade flowers, which I can make and have experience with). However custom ones would start at $18, and custom ones with handmade flowers would be even more, as they're fiddly and making them does take a significant amount of time.
Each corsage is pay what you want, starting at $15 + the shipping to your location.

One of my "beetles". I can also do bead eyes instead of these gold thread ones.
The corsage that got complimented; I made all these flowers, they are red roses and purple wolfsbane, made from polyester satin ribbon. I can also try making flowers from appropriately prepared cotton fabric.
All of these are also made by me. The blue flowers on the bottom are handmade love-in-a-mist; the hanging flowers on the same two corsages are fuschias I made. The purple flowers and berries center left are belladonna I made, and the purple flowers at the top are hyacinths I made from grogain ribbon.
While corsages are mostly known today as being used for prom and weddings, they can be worn many ways. All of mine have a ribbon sewn onto the backing, allowing them to be used with alligator clips, barrettes, and safety pins. These will not be included in your purchase, but when user give you the option of wearing your corsage in your hair or pinned to you clothing. Some ways corsages can be worn include:
Pinned in the hair, to a hat, to the shirt/vest/jacket front, or even on a belt or sash (I have seen this before but can't find a photo right now). Even if you're not going to prom, you may have a reason to have a corsage as a quick way to dress up an outfit.
If you would like one of these from batch one, or want a more customized corsage, DM me so we can sort out shipping and the final cost.
Do you like my corsage 😋
