Ok so one of the motifs, if you will, throughout this series is how folks (especially staff) will clock Wan and Chi having an emotion™ and literally about face if not leave the room entirely to allow them to have their Moment© It's funny and happens often enough that you look forward to it - but!

The thing I appreciate the *most* about it is that it always comes from a place of protection! Oh these silly kids having emotions, don't know better, things could go badly for them! Quick!

Especially for Wan! It's usually a forensic team or official who has learned to respect her and values her input/expertise in the field. The one coroner's assistant who caught her eye and subtly stopped her from revealing the victim's affair to the victim's wife. The officer who had a whole rank and file about face, so that Wan wouldn't be embarrassed when Chi bridal carried her out of the office.
