okay i need to start this with a I LOVE JEREMY AS JACK I FUCKING PROMISE

and I also need to clarify further there is a difference between 2011 paper mill Jeremy Jordan Jack and 2016 proshot Jeremy Jordan Jack, the way that he (and Ben and Kara and Andrew) play their characters are VERY different between the two and i honestly for the most part prefer their 2011 performances.

If we're talking 2011 Jeremy I just barely like Corey's performance more, and I think that mostly comes down to the fact it's so so distinct. Corey does not play Jack like Jeremy, Michael Lindsay's Jack is not like Corey's, no one has really replicated what Corey does as Jack.

I also need to specify this isn't my favorite characterization of Jack but I like it for how distinct it is.

and that's because Corey plays Jack as someone who's already let New York get to him, like a lot of his joy and whimsy has been stomped on, one bad day from cracking and I think that's so fascinating

His Jack is still as quipy and smart mouth ofc due to the script, but it feels like he's going to the motions of his day to day, hes numb to Weasel and Delancey's terrorizing, more concerned for others then himself really

The only times we really see under that is during the opening, when he's talking about Santa Fe, the way his voice falls so blatantly when Davey mentions his parents, when he begs the scabs to join the script, Santa Fe, when he argues with Davey about the strike right before watch what happens reprise

I won't go into each example especially because I can only put a singular video in this post so I'll focus on Santa Fe

I think Corey has the most haunting Santa Fe, Michael Lindsay's will always be my favorite (it's the only one to make me cry!!!) but god how Corey's Jack has just hit his breaking point, just completely and utterly losing it, like all the hope has completely leaves him makes me soooo
