"Battle Scarred" ... one of our sweet yellow Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly in August of 2022 visiting our hydrangea. They only live 4 weeks as a butterfly ... and during that time they are hunted by birdies, praying mantises and other critters. You can see this pretty lady has had some chomps taken out of her wings, but she's still vibrant and enjoying her nectar-y lunch!

I hand-painted the photo I took of her in #CorelPainter ... and after I painted in all her bite marks and made her perfect again, I made the decision to start over and leave her battle scars visible ... after all, they make her story!!
