Even before leaving Earth, Reader was very obsessed with tiktok. Phone opened on the app already, you probably had like a couple hours stacked on it. It was the only thing that kept you from dying of boredom

So when leaving the planet, you were DEVASTATED to see that your phone was quite literally useless in space

Anyway! So I was just wondering what the paladins (and Allura and Coran if that's ok) would do for a first date a potential SO they really liked.

(I normally gravitate towards a female SO but could it be a GN since that can include more people?)

oooo yes of course!! this sounds so cute and soft 😊 surprisingly nobody’s asked for this yet, and this is incredibly tame so i’d be more than happy doing this lmao. and yes on this blog i ALWAYS write a gender-neutral s/o!

shiro

☆ he’s probably one of the most chill date-planners of all of the paladins tbh. and when i say date-planner, i mean he is LITERALLY someone who plans his dates. everything that they do, what they’ll buy (if needed), what they’ll do...unfortunately this man may come off as a bit annoying because of this, but trust me, he’s doing it because he wants to make sure you’re happy <3

☆ but tbh...if he’s having a good time he’ll just completely move away from what he had planned. sometimes he’s aware that he can be kinda uptight with the things he does and whatever happens that makes you happy then he’ll go along with that. which is why he’d probably do something more relaxing, like dinner and maybe a movie.

☆ he definitely insists on taking care of the check, no matter if the two of you are having a sit down lunch or getting takeout, and will probably buy any snacks or drinks that you two want for the movie, heh.

☆ it doesn’t really matter if you guys are in a theater or at home, as long as it’s dark then this man has absolutely no problem with slinking an arm around you and pulling you close, holding your hand during an action or horror sequence if you need it, or maybe even kissing you during a more romantic moment. he’s a bit shy about showing affection at first, especially in a public place, but if it’s dark and nobody can see then he’ll be more okay with it.

☆ he’ll probably try to kiss you on the first date lol. it’s more likely than not that he’ll get all awkward and mess up, but as long as his lips end up meeting yours then he considers it a win

☆ okay, so we all know for a fact that this boy is super flirtatious and likes to flaunt the fact that he’s a ladies man. but actually, when it comes down to ACTUALLY becoming romantically involved with someone he can get, like?? REALLY awkward?

☆ he’s a bit hesitant about asking his crush out on a first date, and he cannot hide his excitement if they accept. he probably likes to wing his dates a lot, but when it comes to the first one, he wants to think of what they can do together because he doesn’t want to mess up.

☆ he’d probably take his s/o swimming! probably at the beach since he likes the salt water, and it’s probably attributed to where he grew up. he also absolutely has a swimmer’s body so it’s likely that he’d be incredibly agile in the water. he’s more one to leisurely swim, no matter if he’s in a pool, lake, or ocean, but sometimes he’ll challenge his s/o to a race (which he’ll probably end up cheating at).

☆ he probably starts a random water fight too and slaps you with a noodle just to rile you up. it turns into this massive water battle that leaves you both exhausted and lying on the sand, panting and laughing together as you try to awkwardly hold hands

☆ he probably takes you for a sunset stroll on the beach just to look at the tide turning orange. he probably also tries to kiss you but randomly screws up, like maybe his nose hits your forehead when he leans in with his eyes closed? yeah he’s not as suave as he thinks he is, he’s definitely awkward but you still find it cute

☆ unsurprisingly he is? SUPER shy about asking his crush for a date? i mean the two of you absolutely need a break fighting the universe when you can catch one, y’all are bound to be exhausted. but he KNOWS that the two of you need a moment to breathe, and in the end he’ll be thankful he did this

☆ he’s a blushing and stuttering mess, that’s for sure. it takes him probably forever to say it, but he asks to just take his s/o for a ride in the black lion (after shiro’s disappearance, or the red one, it depends on the time) just to take in the sights. he promises allura he won’t stray far from the castle but knowing him he probably will and may need a wormhole to get back

☆ he just asks you to sit back and enjoy the ride, and he probably was too since it felt like the lion was moving completely on its own, as if it knew what the two of you were doing there

☆ and it takes the two of you on the most beautiful space ride, through the most magnificent parts of the known universe that you two had ever seen. you catch a glimpse of an allusion of falling stars, probably fly through a group of those small eye-like creatures that glow with the light of nearby stars or suns, maybe even explore the atmosphere of a planet just to see what the sunsets are like

☆ keith is incredibly romantic and sweet in private, so be expected to be given a ton of kisses and hushed compliments under his breath. about how much he enjoyed spending time with you, how much you mean to him and how lucky he feels to have you in his life.

hunk

☆ believe it or not he actually has a lot more confidence than lance!! sure, he may end up a bit of a blushy and stuttery mess if his crush confesses to him first or acts romantic, but he trusts himself to go with his instincts

☆ he probably asks for you to come over and spend the evening with him as he cooks some of his best and most delicious meals for you. he likes cooking to bring people together, so he’d definitely do it to bring the two of you together and to impress you with his cooking skills of course!

☆ if his s/o is also a good cook then the whole thing will probably turn into this all out cooking war that took months, just to see who could impress who more with their skills

☆ he definitely will make the most romantic dessert though. also maybe a huge bowl of spaghetti that you two end up sharing and it all turns into that one scene from lady and the tramp lol. that’s probably how you two ended up kissing in the first place anyways, just ended up eating the meal together and liking it so much that the both of you lost touch with your surroundings and ended up kissing on accident xD

☆ he’ll probably make you chocolates or cakes as well on valentine’s day or just as a random show of kindness to cheer you up if you need it. it doesn’t have to be on a date, just whenever he feels like lifting your spirits.

pidge

☆ she is definitely one of the more awkward paladins when it comes to romance, besides keith, of course. she’d probably be the one to be asked out by her crush, which was very surprising to her.

☆ she’d probably stress about what to do since she doesn’t have much experience with this kind of thing, but as it turns out, since the two of you have similar interests, she’d probably ask if you wanted to just hang out and play video games together and you’d likely be more than happy to do so.

☆ if you weren’t familiar with it then she’d definitely introduce you to killbot phantasm, which of course is her favorite video game franchise. if you were, they you two would probably just end up playing it anyways, probably starting a new world together and working through it.

☆ as i stated in my minecraft headcanons, she isn’t much of a cheater, but she’s incredibly skilled in combat. there’s something about the way she plays that makes it so she can escape without getting too much damage done to her, so she’s always prepared to come to your rescue if you need it, even if she’s getting overwhelmed by an entire group of hostiles or enemies.

☆ she probably wouldn’t try to kiss on the first date. she tends to take these things slowly and see how it all feels before she tries something intimate like that.

allura

☆ like pidge, allura isn’t overly versed in romance either. she’s fine with smaller acts of intimacy, but prefers to take things slowly. however, she may turn head over heels quickly if someone expresses their feelings towards her.

☆ she’s someone who likes to relax and take in the atmosphere when it comes to moments with people she’s fond of, so maybe a nice relaxing walk in the park or even a slow drive just to take in the scenes.

☆ as someone who’s not familiar with a lot of earth flora and fauna, she enjoys learning about flowers and plants and even some of the wildlife. she’ll probably want to stop to smell all of the flowers just to see which one reminds her the most of the altean juniberry.

☆ the date probably ends with you two relaxing on a bench watching the sun set, and she’s absolutely amazed by the beauty of earth sunsets. how everything turns orange, painting the horizon and the earth with pinks and browns and oranges. she’d comment about how beautiful it is and how much it makes her miss altea, how lucky you are to have such a beautiful home.

☆ there’s no way you wouldn’t comfort her (right? please tell me this is true) and she only grows more fond of you if you let her know that she feels like a newfound family to you. trust me, saying this will absolutely make her heart swell and it’ll probably be enough to make her want to kiss you.

coran

☆ he isn’t one to put much thought into romance or dates in the first place. he prefers to focus on keeping allura safe before anything, but of course, if he comes across someone he just can’t keep his mind off of, then he’ll just become absolutely smitten with them.

☆ he’s kind of awkward at first, but in the end he’ll be SO HAPPY that he asked them out. he’d be more like “do you want to maybe go do something together” instead of asking them out on an actual date. but if it feels like a date then he’d consider it an accomplishment.

☆ as a first date, he’d definitely take them to, you guessed it: THE SPACE MALL. he’ll show them around to all of his favorite places and stands and may end up getting distracted by a stand that sells really cool weapons or antiques.

☆ he’s not a massive video game player, but he’d be more than happy to accompany you to a stand that sells limited edition cartridges and disks for the gaming systems you do have on the ship. but trust me, as soon as this man gets hooked on a video game, he gets HOOKED. he will come by and ask you if you want to play a level with him at one of the WORST possible times.

Sorry this took so long! COVID hit and I had to take a forced break from the Internet. 

No matter how you try, you just can’t shake the fact that you will never look like these women. With their elegant faces, elf-like ears, and exotic markings, it’s hard to live up to Altean standards of beauty. I mean, who wouldn’t be jealous?

As far as humans go you’ve always considered yourself to be the plain-Jane type of gal. Born to two very average-looking parents with no especially stupefying genes floating around in your gene pool, there is very little to be confident about.

Heaving a sigh, you pull your eyes away from the self-esteem destroying mirror in front of you. There HAS to be something more productive you could be doing instead of wedging yourself even further down the hole of depression you’ve dug for yourself. 

A snore breaks the silence of an otherwise quiet room, and you jolt. Oh yeah, you were just about to join Coran for bed before you distracted yourself with that damn mirror. The sight of silvery stretch marks and more than a few pockets of cellulite as you were stripping down to your night clothes had completely stolen all of your attention. 

I bet Alteans don’t have stretch marks...

It is this very depressing thought which finally prompts you to trudge back to bed. Coran is sprawled out on his back, mouth agape, one leg hanging off the side of the bed. It’s a very cute sight, and with one big leap, you effectively end his peaceful slumber. 

He lets out a strangled sound, but you just bury your head in his chest and groan.

“Coran, am I ugly?”

His response is immediate.

“No love, of course not. Why would you say that?”

You’ve gotta give the man credit, despite his disoriented state he still manages to sound somewhat coherent. He’s still got that lisp that comes with being forcefully awoken from sleep, and he’s doing that weird tongue clicking thing, but he’s mostly holding it together.

You force yourself up by the arms until you’re straddling his waist, and he grunts again at the pressure of your hands against his chest. He seems a bit more awake now as he finally peels his eyes open.

“Altean women are just so... perfect. Long legs, flawless skin, the whole shebang.”

To accentuate this sentence, you gesticulate a wide breadth with your arms.

“I just, I don’t think I could ever compare. I have too many stretch marks, my thighs are too fat, and my butt is LUMPY.”

At this he just kind of stares at you blankly, as if piecing together everything you’ve just thrown at him (which, to be fair, is a lot).

“I just... I would understand if you wanted to leave me now that the Alteans have returned.”

He makes a weird sleepy noise, readjusting himself so that his hands aren’t trapped under the blanket anymore, and rests them against your hips.

“Love, I have NO idea what you’re talking about.”

He slides his hands down and squeezes the supple flesh of your buttocks, exhaling deeply.

“But your butt is most certainly NOT lumpy.”

You make to protest, but before you can even being to verbalize, he hefts you off of him with a great force you sometimes forget he's capable of. The blanket is now a crumpled mess, half twisted between the two of you, half hanging off the bed. He fits himself snuggly between your legs and presses his lips to your exposed neck. His mustache tickles as speaks. 

“And more importantly,” He begins kissing down your neck, unbuttoning your night shirt as he goes. “You are the most divine creature to have ever walked this solar system.”

“That’s fucking cheesy.” You blow a raspberry at him, but that doesn’t stop your skin from heating up as his hands begin to wander and the hardness between your legs begins to grow. He leans back just far enough that you catch the hint of mischief glimmering in his eyes.

“Perhaps, but not a word of it is false.” 

Without another word, he returns to your body, mouth moving against your subtly flushed skin, hands disappearing below the hem of your underwear. He flicks his wrist just right, fingers finding purchase against your delicate center, and before you can censor yourself you’ve already let a groan escape your lips. What a talented man, to be able to do this to you. 

Request: Anon; Could you write an imagine with Shiro training the reader his replacement as pilot of the black lion. The reader being a lot like Shiro calm, collected and extremly dedicated but also very intelligent like Pidge. Tragedy strikes and Shiro is gone so now the reader has to take on the responsabilities and is stressed. So the team helping them cope? :)

Why did it have to be this way? Why did the Black Lion choose me? Why did Shiro have to go?

The darkness in your mind, and that in your room, surrounds you with pity.

Ever since the battle against Zarkoff, the one that ended in devastation, the one that merely happened a week ago, you’d been miraculously appointed as the leader of Voltron. But that wasn’t exactly a surprise to you.

Everyone knew you’d take the mantle. It wasn’t based on a choice, but rather by chance and destiny.

In a hyperactive state during a battle, for some unknown reason, the Black Lion had come to your rescue, whilst Shiro remained on the Castle of Lions.

Everyone froze, the fighting practically stopped for two solid seconds.

With great reluctance, you boarded the Black Lion and fought the rest of the battle with her.

When you returned to the Castle, everyone bombarded you with questions. It was almost too overwhelming.

After the initial shock passed by, Shiro fully committed to training you. It had been vigorous and harsh. And it had only begun three weeks ago.

Then, tragedy hit, and the team was left in your hands.

Determination had taken the reigns. You stayed strong, both for yourself and for the team. But, that didn’t last long.

It had barely been three days before it all got too much for you.

The pressure of being a leader, the vigorous training you continued, the missions you put together, the memories of the events of battles you’ve witnessed. It was just too much for you to comprehend. It was too much to understand. Too much to handle.

Tonight marks the fourth night that you lay awake, thoughts dark and forever degrading.

A knock on your door thankfully dissipates those thoughts from your mind.

At least for now.

Once making yourself seem decent, emotionally and physically, you open the door.

“We’d like it if you joined us in the common room.” As soon as Coran had spoken those words, he turned to walk down the hallway.

Fearing it was something urgent, you quickly follow behind him.

You had practically ran the way there, surpassing Coran before the first corner.

You skid to a stop at the entrance of the common room, sense on high alert.

“What’s wrong?!”

It takes a few seconds for you to address the state of the room.

Blankets and pillows are piled in a semi-organised heap, taking up the entire area between the couches.

Hunk stands nearby with a plate of food. Keith and Lance carry armfuls of more pillows and blankets. Pidge types away at her laptop, which is connected to a web of cords which connects to a projector-like screen.

You decide to rephrase your question.

“What’s going on?”

“We’ve decided that tonight we would all sleep in here and watch movies.” Allura walks up beside you and it is only then do you realise that everyone is clad in their pyjamas.

“A sleepover.” Lance says as he and Keith mercilessly dump the pillows and blankets in the pile before climbing down to organise the mess.

“Yes. A sleepover. Thank you Lance.” Allura says as she smiles at you.

You furrow your eyebrow, confusion etching itself onto your features.

“I don’t understand.”

“Perhaps it’ll be better if we show you.” Coran gently takes hold of you by the shoulders and starts pushing you to the mess of comfort.

“Pidge, is the movie connected?” Coran asks as he practically trips you into the pile.

“Just about!”

As you manoeuvre into a sitting position, the others begin to sink themselves into the pile around you, pretty much caging you in.

Lance situates himself behind you before grabbing your shoulders and pulling you back to lean against him. Hunk seats himself to your right, placing the plate of food on your lap. Keith and Allura take places to your left, Keith laying down next to you while Allura takes the chance to lay herself over his and your legs. You see Coran further to your left as he sits on the couch, propping his feet on the mountain of pillows before him.

Pidge taps away at a few more keys before placing down her laptop. She quickly untangles herself from the wires before diving into the pillows.

She crawls her way to your right, wrapping her arms around your waist, laying her head on your chest.

Even as the movie begins to play, you still sit there confused.

“I still have no idea what this is about. Who’s watching the radar?” You try to make a move, but with Lance, Pidge and Allura clinging to you, you are forced to stay.

It’s Allura who decides to speak up. “We know that the incident with Shiro has been taking a toll on you.”

You tense up at her words.

Pidge decides to take over, sitting up slightly to look at you. “We see you struggling to cope with the stress of being a leader. We wanted to give you a break.”

“You looked tired and we could practically feel the tension on your body.” At this, Lance begins to gently knead your shoulders. You wince at the pain that you now notice is pulsating from your shoulders.

Keith looks at you. “You took the incident really hard. You had gone from a soldier to the leader of a universal saviour in an instant.”

You turn your gaze to Hunk who speaks next. “We could see you wearing yourself out. You needed the break that you refused to give yourself.”

“So we took the liberty of forcing it on you.” You can’t help but smile at Coran’s words.

Everyone’s words struck you with reassurance and endearment for your team members. It was hard to fight the onset of tears.

“Guys, she’s crying.” Allura’s voice is laced with worry before Hunk chimes in.

“I think they might be happy tears.”

You nod at Hunk in affirmation before sniffling and wiping the tears from your eyes.

Your voice cracks as you speak. “Thank you. This really  means a lot.”

Without a word, not like there needs to be any, everyone moves in to hug you.

You smile and reciprocate the hug as best you can.

The rest of the night is spent watching a marathon of movies. Unfortunately, you don’t even manage to get through the first movie. Lance’s fingers massaging your shoulder and the surrounding warmth and comfort of the pillows and your much-loved friends lulling you into a much needed deep sleep.
