I just want to give a huge thank you to @asthoughtobreathewerelife, who borrowed a sticker maker from a local public library and made me these amazing stickers of some of the copybook doodle beasts I've posted!
Also a shout out to public libraries! If you want to try out a new craft or hobby (but are unsure if you want to invest any money in supplies or equipment yet) check to see if your local library has a Library of Things! Their contents obviously vary from place to place, but even my tiny local library has a ton of craft supplies, cooking utensils, basic tools, a telescope and a 3d printer you can use on site.
