So since it seems like some souls (specifically the ones trapped by Eleanor) have false memories to keep them subdued, or in Eleanor’s case, so that she could keep harvesting their agony. I could be wrong. When we see Millie (from Count the Ways) in the epilogues, we learn that her soul is trapped in the ballpit by Eleanor. That with her false memory being of a happy Christmas with her family that never happened but this memory helps her find closure and allows her soul to move on. So with my theories about Toby’s soul becoming Shadow Bonnie and Pete’s soul possessing Foxy, I headcanon Eleanor giving them false memories prior to her defeat so that she could keep harvesting agony from them. Pete’s false memory is of him and his brother playing arcade games laughing and talking. As their parents watch from the diner. Showing that Pete’s life wasn't all that bad despite the divorce and everything that happened. Toby’s false memory is about him and his brother watching sports with their dad at home. Happy. And in that memory Toby feels like his brother and dad actually care about him and they feel like a happy family despite the fact Toby and Connor’s mom left. *puts down my papers* And thats my yapping session, thank you for listening :D
