Looking back in hindsight I wish I would have started veiling sooner. I didn’t think of it because my spirits aren’t ones I have to protect myself from. However, their emotions are.

Even when working with known ancestors/spirits it’s good to use protection from outside negative energy. In my personal experience their emotions would just get stuck there and I would have to work it out myself, via exercise or venting or throwing stuffed animals around the room.

After veiling, the problem has dissipated. The first night I veiled I felt giddy and happy, only the good emotions had stuck and it was almost like I was high. Granted, I was connecting for several spirits so the energy was pretty potent but sooooo much better than previous.

I dove into my runes asking which one would effectively filter out that energy for me, found a good sized chunk of a corresponding color of fabric and drew the rune on there, asking for its benefits.
