He really didn't just want the souljam. He just wanted to have someone who was able to understand him :(
But even then, he didn't truly want someone to understand him. This post explains it well, but he just wanted to have a cookie who could understand his pain and do whatever he says; not try to help him and befriend him.

With the reveal of just how self aware Black Sapphire Cookie is, it makes me so interested to learn when he decided to follow Shadow Milk.
Because he knows just how fake everything is, he can see behind to curtain; to take this vague theater allegory further, he can see the stage hands behind that curtain, see the audience, and read their playbills. He knows heâs ultimately entertainment, alongside everyone else he lives with. He feels no guilt for his actions because what would be the point? None of itâs actually real, just fake problems for characters in a fictional world. He can do whatever he wants with this knowledge, like using other cookies for his own entertainment, because itâs at least something. Heâs taking power back in a way. Shadow Milkâs ideology enables that.
But we also see his sort of cry for help when he tries to explain to Cream Ferret and Candy Apple that theyâre in a video game. Heâs so lonely and desperately wants someone to understand with him, but itâs all incomprehensible to them. If they could, itâd be lovecraftian to them. Heâs burdened by a bitter truth, and instead turned to sweet lies to cope, just like shadow milk. But shadow milk doesnât seem to be self aware either, at least from what I can tell. He does have dialogue where heâs talking to himself, but I donât recall him ever directly addressing the players. Because knowing his crazy ass if he did know this was all a game I feel thatâd inform his actions much more than his vendetta against the witches would. That means Black Sapphire really is all alone.
But the thing he doesnât realize is that he doesnât have to be. Candy Apple absolutely adores him, even if she pretends to be above it. Like we learned this girl doesnât have real wings and made hers to mimic him, which is so damn cute. Even if no one truly understands him, thereâs at least someone there to care about him. I am really giving him an absurdist, even nihilistic perspective in this post, so if I were to give him a character arc I think itâd naturally lead into existentialism and making peace that he lives in an inherently absurd world.
Okay, I just noticed most, if not all, cheese cookies related to wealth in some way. Roquefort is said to be from a wealth family, while cheesecake is ...well nepo baby.
We see even this trend with golden cheese cookie, her kingdom once being one of the richest kingdoms out there.
And we see this trend continue on within oven smash, specifically the lactose tribe. All of them having cheese in their name and once being related to wealthy.
Anyway, that's all for now. It just a little something I have noticed, lol.
So is anyone gonna point out how out of all the beasts, Salt was the only one who underwent a complete 180 transformation in terms of color scheme?
Back when we only had his concept art/sprite teaser, while many speculated him to transform from a white knight to a black knight (they got that part right), in fanart he was always depicted with purple as his main color scheme that tied both designs together.
But we don't actually get that in his official sprites. Instead, we get a transformation from white and mint to black and pale blue/purple.
Hell, if we go back even further. In his concept art, he was grey.
Even in the concept art, the other beasts still retained their main colors, that being blue, pink, white, and red.
I think it's interesting how Silent Salt has always been planned to be different from the beasts, one way or another.
Honestly I think that instead of killing dark Enchantress white Lily should have fused with her / Accepted her. I know that sounds weird so let me Explain. I think that if instead of killing off dark Enchantress white Lily instead had some kind of scene where she Accepted her as a part of her it could have made for a really good lesson about Accepting your mistakes and learning for them. dark Enchantress is white lily's biggest mistake the thing that she regrets most ( something that the story constantly brings up) in my mind her Accepting dark enchantress could be like her Acknowledging her Mistakes and taking responsibility. I know it's not perfect but I thought it could be a nice message about how our mistake are apart of us and we can't run from that and how to truly start Rewriting your wrongs you need to acknowledge them first and take responsibility ( not saying that she didn't take responsibility)
i was kind of predicting that this was what they were going to do before the last episodes came out and randomly remembered this
please feel free to add your own thoughts in the comments I love hearing other people's opinions

Burning Spiceâs âboredomâ isnât exactly boredom. This is idea is actually inspired by achromaticEgoist on twitter and their timejammed au (check them out itâs really cool)
He is an artist at heart.
He loves his creations and wants to see them grow and change other time. Sadly, as an immortal, he has seen people destroy his work with greed time and time again. Spice understands this as part of interacting with cookies, but it still aches.
Imagine yourself as an artist putting your work out there for people to enjoy but then some people decide to destroy it out of greed or a bit of fame or any other petty reason. However you canât stop because it is your job to make more art and give it to the masses. Eventually, you grow numb to it, but no one likes feeling numb. Thus, you decide to see why they like destroying your work. You feel the thrill of releasing your anger after so many years holding back and being the perfect artist you were supposed to be. Eventually you want to do it again and start making art just to destroy it and watch others destroy.
That is Burning Spice. He had been forced to deal with trolls destroying his kingdoms and eventually decided itâs better to join them than keep trying to make them destruction proof (impossible)
Also, unlike other immortal/god-like cookies in CRK, he is meant to work closely with mortals. He was made to guide them towards a better future. Sugar Swan and Millennial Tree donât have to directly involve themselves with the world. Most elementals have limited contact with mortals and donât have to if they donât want to.
Even comparing him to the ancients, he was forced into the role by birth while they chose to.
So in short, I think his boredom is more of a numbness he wants to ignore. Itâs an artist deciding to join the trolls.
A Messy Rambling on my Predictions for White Lily and the Silent Salt Update (feat. My Obviously Reaching Theories!!)
I would like to preface that this whole idea popped up completely out of nowhere while me and a mutual were having a convo about the new Kingdom story. We were NOT expecting it to get THIS deep and instead of copypasting the whole thing here, I thought of expanding upon it because it's such a good idea!! (trust me bro) Oh, and while this DOES go in-depth on certain points of history and literature, please do keep in mind that I am in no means an expert on these sort of things, just a nerd who happens to really like reading wiki articles on different Cycles and Mythos. (There's also gonna be some leaks shown later on, so keep that in mind!)
But yeah I'm sure you get the gist of it so let's go á( á )á
I'm sure a lot of us have noticed everything the Order and Silent Salt have in common. And I do not just mean the fact that they're slated to be released one after the other. I'm talking the visual motifs, the concept art, the air of mystery surrounding them. You know, just the overall vibe of these two. It's almost like... there's a certain flowery cookie that might have a little something to do with them, shocker!
I get it, it may sound like at stretch at first, but once you REALLY get into the similarities (and read Lily's lore in-game and on the wiki for the bajillionth time) you may begin to notice something a little... interesting.
For starters, both St. Pastry's and Salt share aesthetics reminiscent of Medieval Christianity. Silent Salt, in particular, IS modeled after a knight, a symbol of Christian virtuousness and chivalry. Though, he does seem to be modeled after the trope of the Black Knight in particular, which in most literary works, serves as the antithesis to these aforementioned values and the embodiment of darkness and well, death.
I've read plenty of theories on his association with death, and I'd say that's a feasible speculation! There's so many crumbs I'd like to go over that can fortify this. However, a problem I do tend to see with fans discussing White Lily's potential awakening is their obsessive focus on her eventual "demise", and I do not want to end up accidentally coming with another "omg she's gonna die for a second time!!" joke, because there's clearly WAAAAAY more to it than that.
As much as I like to rave over the same tired jokes (sometimes to an almost hypocritical degree), I believe the devs intended to portray this concept as something more than we initially make it out to be. To put it simply, by "death" I do not mean another iteration of the cake tower incident or a bowl of purple soup singlehandedly creating Dark Enchantress 2, no. Rather, it may involve her dealing with it totally differently--through the slow, gradual loss of her being.
And what do I mean by this, you may ask? Well, let's begin with the latest of what the canon has brought us:
In Shadow Milk's title screen, we can see a White Lily puppet with a really gloomy face and hair scribbled entirely in black. She's also positioned next to a crossed out portrait of the old headmaster, possibly pointing at her past or some kind of truth she may have struggled to grasp (though, I'm more inclined to believe in the former as this IS the old academy we're talking about).
If there's anything we can pick up from the last Beast arcs, it's that each of the puppets shown is a reference to whatever fate an Ancient has taken in their respective chapter. So if Hollyberry had her will shattered along with her shield and soul jam as represented by her wearied an unable to pick it back up, what can this entail for our Lily?
A lot of people like to bring up the death motif when it comes to this representation of her, and on one hand, I don't think they're wrong for saying that. Perhaps the darkening of her hair IS reminiscent of petals wilting, or poison slowly taking over a flower. Salt has been scientifically proven to be arsenic to plants, too, so by all accounts this could point all signs into White Lily dying, right... right???
Well, yes! But not in the way you might expect...
White Lily herself wouldn't "die" in the most literal sense. Yes, she's been in a coffin before, but I don't think putting her body back in there would do anything substantial (I trust the devs enough to not fail her after the Silver Kingdom arc, please). Instead, her soul and sanity would be slowly taken away the more she fights to latch onto them. This particular line of dialogue from BY 10 could perhaps leave a clue on this.
Silence WILL prevail, and as far as she may run, she can still make it out alive, but by the time she does, it's no longer her.
I'm not the best at explaining these sort of things (not even my fascination for the nature of existence can save me this time T-T), but long story short, Lily would be forced to face the reality of her predicament. With the idea that what she was fated into will be forever bound to herself, and leave a lasting impact on her life moving forward. This can break her in ways unlike anything she's experienced before, and in the end, she'll be left an empty, shallow husk of herself. Gone are the last sparks of hope in her eyes guiding her to the "penitence" she's longed to desire, and in its place is a deafening silence, weighing her down until the time comes she's freed from its shackles once again.
Another place we can check are the pieces of the canon nobody is meant to see: the leaks!
Pretty recently, most of us have gotten intrigued by these set of words said to be associate with the update. Many of these are on-par with the kind of style they're going for, and-- what's that? An "iron maiden"?
Yep, you heard that right.
For some context, the iron maiden is a torture device commonly associated with the medieval period (though use of it isn't recorded until the 19th century), consisting of a cabinet with spikes inside. While googling, I stumbled across this factoid that I thought would be relevant:
At that moment, my mind clicked.
The "iron maiden" isn't just there for the aesthetic; it's symbolic of White Lily's plight. A manifestation of the very "truth" keeping her from the freedom she sought after. And by that, I do not mean the purpose of her kind's creation.
Her own past, one that has brought her pain and suffering, comes back to her to wring her alive, to make her as uncomfortable as she could possibly be. She's mocked, humiliated, belittled for these notions, and because of it, she is bound to a never-ending cycle of regret and retribution. Having to sit with spikes is one thing, but for them to emerge as your deepest darkest thoughts? There'll come a time where she'll no longer be able to carry the weight, and instead, the light once harboring her very essence would flicker, leaving her devoid of anything to even define her whole existence.
This is interesting because this all ultimately ties in to the theme of Freedom and Autonomy present in Lily as a character, and how her Beast can take advantage of it. I do not want to get into too much detail yet (I can make a separate analysis for this!), but from what you've read, you can probably understand by now what this would entail. The Order could also play a significant role in this, having been positioned right before Salt and as we highlighted before, sharing the same aesthetics and inspiration. Them being a cult complacent to their own fate, going as far as to cross the bounds of morality (as we've seen with Black Forest, for instance) or manipulate younger and impressionable cookies to do so, further justifies this. Along with THE cutscene in Tower of Sweet Chaos, this almost convinces me Lily MAY have had some deeper connection with them beyond the dream Pastry had that day.
White Lily has been bound to the shackles of her actions, but it is not entirely on her that she ended up the way she did. Perhaps the following arcs would finally open up what side of her the game refused to reveal to us in so long. She's the most mysterious out of the Ancients and we haven't had enough content shown of her to fully flesh her out, so hopefully the next update onwards can answer what's been lingering on our minds for years!
Cookie run kingdom beast yeast and white lily hate rant
I may get some hate for this but I donât care anymore this has been driving me insane ever since burning spice was released
Iâm sure if you look up cookie run content on any media talking about the beast & ancients youâve seen these collection of comments
âCalling it now lily going to loseâ
âFun fact; salt kills lily flowersâ
âLily going to die in silent saltâs updateâ
Or comments following a similar pattern
Here the thing tho
Cookie run as a game follows a very basic pattern in every update
âGood triumphs evilâ
No matter the update rather itâs;
Fire spirit vs agar agar
Ginger brave vs pomegranate
Pure vanilla vs shadow milk
The hero, no matter how out numbers or out ranked will always win
And the beast update follow a very loose pattern as well that you can see in every update (minus the first beast yeast update where elder faerie died)
Chapter 1;
-ancient goes looking for the beast, typically with a few companions by their side at the beginning
- ancient finds beast
-some sort of dilemma/battle/mental torture
-ancient is at the brink of losing/dying/failing
Chapter 2;
-some way or some how the ancient remembers why it is they became an ancient, and remembers what they fight for
-ancient awakens
-beast is defeated for the time being
Many things can happen in between these check points and they can reach these check points in many different ways but one way or another you will always get to that story checkpoint
White lily ISNâT going to fail
One way or another she is going to come out victorious with an awakened form
(And for the love of god can we please stop saying her awaken form is going to be dark enchantress, that would quite literally be the OPPOSITE of an awakened form)
Why her souljam is upside down in the âcoming soonâ of her and silent saltâs gacha pull I donât know yet
But she isnât going to turn evil. And she isnât going to die
(At least not permanently if she does, girlies like a cockroach in the best way possible, she will not stay dead)
Moving on
People treat white lily as if she is a meek and weak character, or as if she weaker than the other ancients
Which is just not correct
Because 1, if white lily was weak than dark enchantress would in no way be as strong as she is as most of her strength and knowledge on magic comes from white lilyâs own memories being used against her
2, white lily has shown time and time again that she isnât weak, she a quiet and shy character, yes but she still an ancient hero, she fought just as many battles as the other ancients and survived
Letâs not forget that, even if he wasnât at full strength, she still single handedly defeated shadow milk
âOh but she didnât actually defeat him, she just sealed the treeâ
Yea, that COUNTS as defeating him. Letâs not forget how so many of the more toxic shadow milk fans got pissy at white lily because she defeated him.
(This also goes back into my previous comment of; no matter what, good will triumph evil)
White lily is also one of the stronger ancient cookies just in game. I donât know about the rest of you but Lily has my dark cacao and Holly beat by a landslide and she not even awakened yet.
Lily as a character isnât weak. She morally gray, she complex, and a bit of a wall flower but she is not weak
You are allowed to not like white Lilyâs character, but I feel so many of the fans treat has as if she is satan incarnated, as if she willingly threw her ass into the ultimate dough and did a backflip on the way down.
Lily never intended to fall, she never wanted dark enchantress to exist, and she doesnât support dark enchantress. She horrified by dark enchantressâ actions and actively despises what sheâs done to cookie kind. She sought out the witches to HELP cookie kind, no matter what that has always been her goal, to make cookies stronger and less likely to crumble, actively throwing herself in dangerous or sketchy situations just to find answers, to find a way to help others, because she is the keeper of the souljam of freedom, and she seeks freedom for all.
And Iâm going to say something that Iâve not seen anyone else say.
Dark enchantress wouldâve existed with or without white lily going to the banquet.
The ultimate dough had already been prepared. The witches were always going to bake it. The only thing lily added was half of her soul this including half of her memories and likely some of her strength. Dark enchantress clearly doesnât share white Lilyâs opinions or feelings for others. And only ever seems to refer to herself as âformerly white Lilyâ when it aids her in harming her enemies
Dark enchantress wouldâve existed with her same personality and desire to destroy with or without Lily.
Likely Lilyâs soul only made her a bigger threat sooner than she wouldâve been had she not had that half of Lilyâs soul.
Lily and dark enchantress are essentially two separate entities. They share half of a soul yes, but their memories (after the banquet), opinions, goals, morals, and relationships are all different. They also cannot control each others actions.
White lily had no control over the war dark enchantress caused just as dark enchantress has no control over the actions lily has done since her revival
They are more akin to twins now than to being the same person.
More over, if you wouldnât thank dark enchantress for the good white lily does, donât blame white lily for the evil dark enchantress does
I donât really know how to end this now so Iâll just do a small retake on all I said
White lily, by the very laws of the story wonât lose to silent salt
White lily isnât weak and these white lily hate comments are getting out of hand
And white lily and dark enchantress are separate entities and shouldnât be given the credit or blame for the otherâs actions
