Solar Creep
For some reason, I really enjoy building a Solar Outpost, supplying it with all the necessary building materials and then just slowly spreading solar panels and accumulators all over the place like in some kind of renewable energy-based Grey Goo scenario (note to self: new idea for a book!).
Just standing in my homebase and letting my Bots do all the work from mapview! Ah, how I love it! I think I would really enjoy to have a game mode where you start without a player character and just a single roboport and a bot or two and building a whole base like that!
...
But every. damn. time! I end up with something like this:
You see this shit? They’re misaligned!
I screwed up the spacing at some point and now I have this lopsided part of my solar fields that doesn’t quite fit the rest! Maybe this is a better visualisation:
Now you see? UGH, EVERY TIME! I really don’t want to tear up half of my panels and rebuild them correctly. Especially since I can’t find the starting point of this mess, you know, the place I first screwed up.
But it’s also really bothering me, for some reason. Damn you, brain! Playing Factorio really turns you neurotic about these kind of things!
