Follow-up to this. I was able to find some of the mentions of a Curse of the Shadows continuation. It was a legitimate possibility. It looks like the showrunner was hoping to do a crossover in season 4 with characters from previous seasons. But, since the show wasn't renewed for a season 4, it wasn't able to happen. 😭 I can't believe we got SO CLOSE to a continuation, only to have our dreams squashed.

like... there's a implied romance between a rebel without a cause and a nerdy loser who's stronger than he looks (lautski). even if you didn't ship that, there's another romance you can pick from where there's a tough girl who's fighting for justice and the nerdy loser is here as an awkward yet also just as intelligent and cool guy following along (lautski but also lexthan???) there's a sibling relationship that is good but rocky but also regains stability as they fall into the same supernatural horror (the fosters). a comic book geek realizes that the comic he's reading is telling the future and thus sacrifices himself with an iconic line brought back from an interaction before (more richie coded but like... art??? deb maybe??? could also be ziggs). a hard working girl who's friends with the chaotic group despite her responsbilities, gets dragged into it and gets traumatized all because she wanted to help them (alice). the entire reason the villain even becomes the villain is for his kid. there's so many more things i could list that would fit the hatchetfield characters perfectly. i will write this myself if i have to
