"Which region, then?" N asked. "I heard that Kalos has a village of only Pokemon. Is that where you're from?"

"That's...like the world I envisioned making for Pokemon," N said. "A world where Pokemon could live freely, without having to worry about trainers."

N paused, then asked, "What's it like?"

"It's nice," Illanero said. "I live on the Thunder Continent. My dad's a part of a search party, Team Gibbous. They go into mystery dungeons to search for missing Pokemon, and help them."

"I...I see," N said. "Is that why you wanted to be a trainer here? Because it's like what your dad does?"

"Yesyes!" Illanero said. "Well, part of it. It's also because I thought it'd be reallyreally cool!"

"...don't you miss your home, though?" N asked. "Surely this world, with all its humans, is a lot different from your home, isn't it?"

"...I do," Illanero said. "I miss dad, and his teammates, and riding the train, and Moonlight Town, and seeing the stars every time I look up."

"Then...why stay here? Why battle me, to keep this world from becoming like yours?" N asked. "I don't understand."

"Humans are reallyreally weird," Illanero says, looking up. "They can be heroes, or villains. They can be reallyreally nice and reallyreally mean. But...us Pokemon are reallyreally weird, too. We can be like humans, too. Like I'm trying to be."

"So," Illanero says, looking back at N. "Pokemon and humans...we're not so different. So...why not stay together? Pokemon and humans, we can be friends!"

"I...I see," N said. "Do...you still want to be friends?"

"Yesyes!" Illanero says, nuzzling against N. "I'd be reallyreally happy to be friends with you!"

"Then...if we can be friends...a human and a Pokemon..." N said. "Maybe more Pokemon can be friends with humans, too. Maybe...humans and Pokemon don't need to be separated. Maybe we can all be friends."
