yes to what anon said and YES to what you said! annabeth having more lasting and important friendships than whatās on page is actually so important to me. people who make connabeth about her pining for HIM?!! absolutely NOT! i need people to stop doing our girl dirty like that. let her be desired! let her be the object of the yearning not the one doing it.
crushing on annabeth is absolutely a rite of passage and it absolutely makes percy sick to his stomach (as it should). living for connor replacing luke as a love interest in fics. my connabeth obsession has officially be reignited.
for all the spinoff books rick keeps writing, one i wouldāve loved to see, even as a decently sized short story (granted he didnāt fuck it up like he tends to do), would be something from annabethās perspective in the years she spent full-time at camp before percy or even the summers after. itās mentioned time and time again that everyone likes her and people respect her and she acts as their leader along with percy, but we donāt get too many interactions that dig deep into her relationship with campers that arenāt main characters also on the quest.
i wish her friendships could be explored more outside of her and percyās mutual friends, too. or how her friendship with someone both she and percy are close to differs from percyās friendship with them (ex. beckendorf). or who at camp really lended her a shoulder to lean on when percy was missing besides piper and rachel. and if some of those friends happen to harbor a crush, i canāt blame them. percy should never get too comfortable <3

i think itās funny that connorās essentially replaced luke as a love interest in fics because i never once imagined that happening in 2020 and i donāt mind it, but anyone that uses it as an excuse to push the perachel agenda is so missing the pointš. i remember that happening even on tumblr back in the day and i was likeš§š¾āāļøwell actually no. or the concept of annabeth pining over connorā¦like baby SHE is the prize, not connor fucking stoll. as long as people get itās 1) because annabeth had more well-founded longtime camp friendships than what was shown on paper, 2) because having a crush on annabeth chase is probably a rite of passage at camp, same as percy, and 3) because connabeth is and always has been for the jealous percy agenda!! he should be sweating and sick to the stomach and holding grudges against all sons of hermes <3
