Miffy (the fictional rabbit) is from The Netherlands and her actual name is Nijntje! She's called that because nijntje is a word little children use for rabbit/bunny: konijn (rabbit) --> konijntje (little rabbit) --> nijntje (bunny). It's always made me a little sad that she's known throughout the globe, but almost no-one knows her real name :( So, by submitting this word I hope to redress the balance and share this knowledge with as many people as I can.
