Exodus of the Leaf Crests
“Where do you think these noisy giants are going, Keiko?”
“I think they are heading out of the woods a few leagues away from where we are right now, Robby, due to the constant logging activities of the Arpanian Empire’s giant bulldozer-tanks...I’m pretty certain that their old forest home around the Green Marshes will certainly disappear within a few years if we allow the Arpanians to continue their endless search for wood, rubber, and other raw materials to fuel their steam-powered industries, and these Leaf-Crests will soon be forced to roam across the barren wastes of what is now remaining of their lush homeland in search of increasingly-dwindling sources of food or water...”
“Oh no…We Wood-Elves remember a time centuries ago when the Leaf-Crests once roamed our lands in huge numbers, eating up the leaves of one grove before they headed off to find another, and we even sung songs in praise of them in our own old language…but it looks like our earth-based magic is now becoming useless to shield them from the more powerful dark one of the Goblins, and seeing them now in their current state as an endangered species kinda make me sad…”
“How terrible methinks the plight of the Leaf-Crests is…never before have we seen such awe-inspiring, majestic creatures come face to face with the brutal, cold, iron fist of the machine, whether it is from the hands of Goblin or from the hands of Man…I remember the day many a decade ago when one of those wicked bulldozer-tanks knocked down the tree where my family lived in, back when I was only a youngster, and we had to flee for our lives only for me to see my whole family getting horribly crushed to death before my eyes…and I believe future generations of Men who grow up on this land will scare remember a bygone time when the Leaf-Crests, along with all the other giant God-Spirits of Aetherosia, once walked where they once stood, albeit only in folk tales or tall tales told around the campfire…”
