1. Of the fics you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?

oh boy. hmm. these hollow hills has a very special place in my heart for having been a theme and topic i desperately wanted to write about, for being the first multichap fanfic i ever finished, and for all the fun i had researching for the island chapter. so probably that one. 

7. Who was your favorite character to write in these hollow hills?

JAKE. absolutely jake. the story was for jake and for the pain i had felt he had gone through without acknowledgement and without being resolved in canon. i wanted to write something for his trauma and for the way such a violation of trust and safety can linger in you. 

and it was also for jake in the sense that i wanted to honor how, when frightened and alone and needing comfort, jake always turned to dirk. 

10. What are some facts readers may not know about blue is the hottest color?

HA. well. the obvious one is -- if you dont know the movie blue is the warmest color the joke may be lost on you. it was this mega explicit romance between two girls movie and it’s all in french and the director was a creep iirc. my ex insisted i would like it but i think we only watched like 30 minutes of it at most. so i named a fic in honor of dumb queer shit and dirk’s blue dick. 

another one is that i wanted to write a fic where jake called dirk darling because i always thought that was a very sweet endearment, lol. 

For @commakaze because she basically squealed her entire fanfic to me whenever we carpooled this past month which was inspired by an artpiece by @cityinthesea

I know nothing about HomeStuck except for what ever @commakaze has squealed to me

... I think by necessity it built upward from the concept of nobility?

I remember when that idea happened and how exciting it was, the idea that Dirk was antimagic and so the colloquialism was ‘noble’ and hoo hoo how clever am I, ha!

But someone pointed out in a comment that I am aggressively committed to my foundation of green vaguely-Celtic magic, which is true because it’s my bedrock and how I understand magic. Thaumaturgy is.... everything. I can’t imagine a magic system without it, tbh?
