So. Ive read Bugs from up there 3 times already and it's so SO cool.
Bugs from up there is a sci-fi webcomic project between multiple artists including @tellars, @shen-mu and @chocolattekinq and i gotta gush about it and i want to start with the panels,, they're so well executed you can feel the action just by how dynamic the panels are!!!! That's the first page and!!!!!!! Look how cool the panels are like wow
THEY HAVE CREATED AN ALIEN LANGUAGE FOR THIS COMIC. CREATED A LANGUAGE. TELL ME THAT ISN'T FUCKING IMPRESSIVE AND COOL AS FUCK. The characters designs are so cool like you See they're aliens and can guess some personality from the design alone which is 💥💥💥 LOOK AT THEM DHJZJZJZKAKDHSU (art by tellars)
This post is long I'm adding a cut so yeah fully going crazy about it under the cut
just from this illustration you can see characterisation with mud being Distracted™ and with an outfit that reads casual while Nori design seems very practical and like this woman has a job and is at least profesional and looks almost at us
And idk who did this background but it is breathtaking AMAZING SO PRETTY AAAAAAAAAAA
IF THE ART HASN'T SOLD YOU (HOW) THE STORY TOO IS INTERESTING. There's only the 1st chapter that kinda introduces the story but no Internet and traveling through space to get to their online friends?? Im invested. BACK TO THE ART THO BECAUSE DHKSKSUDHE THE EXPRESSIONS ARE SO WELL DRAWN LOOK AT THE SILLY
AND THE LITTLE CHIBIS VERSIONS ARE A VERY FUN ADDITION they work really well i think,, AND THE LETTERING +SPEECH BUBBLES it's Not easy but??? It's easy to read i am not struggling to know who says what (the colored text would clear up my doubts anyways) and the reading order of the bubbles feels natural and is very well done!!
So uh yeah messy thoughts about bugs from up there but it's so so so cool and wanted to show my appreciation for the project,, if you've read until there please check out the comic and the artists they have wonderful art and other projects!!

Pixels and Papers are two anonymous comic artists who have been publishing their works online for several years. And if you know anything about publishing comics online....
Which is why we have decided to try and create a digital magazine dedicated to helping small time creators feel a sense of recognition for their work. Advertising for yourself is hard, and we've been there! So we hope to dedicate a small little corner of the internet to giving a helping hand.
As you read this we are working hard on planning and designing a digital magazine that will be posted online FOR FREE on the first of January, 2024.
But until then, please enjoy the title icon made by our lovely graphic designer, Pixels:
it’s here folks!!! the digital PDF of SPINE // STRIDULATION is now avaliable on gumroad!
SPINE // STRIDULATION is a hand-inked 11-page comic set to prose writing following my lived experience with C-PTSD. I would ink most of these pages while in the beginning stages of EMDR, so in a way it’s a visual representation of really dark, icky, sticky feelings, but under a lovely veneer of flowers + insects <3
I wanted to keep this blog fairly streamlined for my own production... but I also wanted to highlight some of my favorite creators so others can find their webcomics too!
To do this, I added a couple new sections on my Tumblr blog in order to separate the two and create a more organized experience. (And also a couple links to my website and Carrd bio!)
Here’s how I did it!
Step 1. Go to your blog and select ‘Edit Appearance’
If you’re on your browser, this should be the artist palette in the top right corner.
From there, a side bar should pop up to Edit your blog theme. Scroll all the way to the bottom to the ‘+ Add Page’ section.
Step 2. Click + Add Page to open this box
This box should pop up. Under the option where it says ‘Standard Layout’, select ‘Link’
Step 3. Add a custom URL for tagged content and Name Your Page
Since I want to have separate pages for my webcomic and other webcomics, I will need to use two separate tags. In my case, I use the tag ‘#future agents’ and ‘#webcomics i love’
PLEASE NOTE: If you have a space in your tag, the URL needs to have ‘%20′ between words to represent the space!
After you have the URL, name your page however you want it to be seen on your blog.
Step 4. Reblog to your heart’s desire (and make sure you tag everything appropriately!!!)
Now, anything you tag with whatever you chose will show up on their designated pages! But make sure you use the tagging system when you reblog, otherwise it won’t show up. (you can always edit a post/reblog to add a tag if you forget!)
Please note, this won’t change your main page, everything will still show up in one space. But it’s great the give the option to someone visiting your page.
Have fun sharing everything you love!
P.S. This also works for any URL, so make sure you share your websites and reading links too!!!!
Personal update from Pixels (guy who runs the blog and replies to all your posts)
Currently still struggling with the back-end of burnout and trying to manage my TWO OTHER PROJECTS. I had a lot on my plate to begin with (again, two comics), but this blog was something I knew deep down that I wanted to do. So I took on the workload anyway. I am taking the bulk of the labor right now, as this is our first production on this blog and I wanted to get a feel for how things would go before handing off more of the work to Papers.
This of course means I am absolutely swamped.
But if anything, I'm so, SO grateful for the love and support we have received so far. It truly does give me hope for what's coming next, and hope that this project will work and ease the struggles of other artists.
I'm on vacation right now and trying to get [more enjoyable] work done through it all and take a break when needed (and all posts and prompts are scheduled for the next month so don't worry I AM taking a break). So I'll be fine in that respect.
But it's mean the whole damn world to me right now if you shared the blog, picked an artist or two to promote for no reason, recommend some webcomics to your followers, something like that. I can't, and won't, ask you to support me or my comics, so I'd like for you to go support someone else. It takes more than one blog to make the internet a little more positive. So please, pay it forward! Make someone's day :))

Due to trickling submissions and the time it takes for production:
We are setting THIS saturday (December 22, 2023) as the cut-off date for the comics submissions for the January edition.
You can still submit comics after that date, but they will not apply to the January comic and instead go to the next issue, which will (hopefully) be uploaded in March.
The theme for the next issue will be Celtic (or similar) mythos, fae, and Magic.
For more details refer to the text under the cut:
Fae, in the context of Celtic culture, refers to magic entities that are non-human. This includes more typical sidhe, ghosts, elves, dryads, etc. Since the Celts, fae have made an abundant appearance in storytelling from classical literature, such as Shakespeare, to more modern works such as Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. It is because of Celtic mythology that we have many of the fantasy races we have today, such as pixies, elves, dwarves, etc!
But the Celts aren't the only ones with their own stories of magic. Almost every culture has its own version of "Fae-like" creatures, and we would like to specify that ALL CULTURES ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED.
From classic mythos to contemporary magic, we aim to cover all kinds of magic and tales of grandeur from all over the world and highlight the importance of a little mysticism and magic escapism in human society across the world.
