The toy purge in my house while I was away at school still lingers in me. My parents had made several attempts and each time I was able to save a few and stow them away in secret, but each time I could save fewer and fewer.
I'm almost 4 decades old. One of them still is hidden in a drawer.
My parents still wonder why I cling to old and mismatched things and get heated when they try to toss things that is not up to their standard.
I threatened to purge their old shoes without them present on several occasions and they've finally stopped trying to throw my belongings away.

I HATE MY COUSINS SOMETIMES MAN
I will call them fake names. They’re Jeb (16) and Dora (14) and I’m Nate (teenaged) (If that changed anything).
Jeb is a kleptomaniac. I’ve always kept my best toys away from him bc he is destructive and frankly mean.
But i have a hoodie. It looks like Michael Mell’s. It even faintly smells of cigarette smoke (never smoked, its second-hand). It doesn’t have the pins or patches but my next project WAS making those.
Jeb came over for family dinner and he was amped up for some reason. But he saw I was wearing a red long sleeve shirt and a short sleeved spider-man shirt over that. And he TOOK MY HOODIE off the couch and wore it.
I’m a bit of a brat and protective of my shit. I’m completely okay with admitting that. But I told him before he went home he had to give me it back.
THE BITCH DIDN’T.
He left while I was decompressing in my bedroom after arguing with Dora.
and on monday he wore it to school and told Dora that I NEED IT back by Friday bc Friday is an important school showcase and I need the comfort it gives me to have the balls to do my role in the showcase. And the BASTARD tells me.
“Sorry Nate. He doesn’t have it.”

And btw, he has ruined almost all of my hoodies by BURNING THEM, smoking in them, cutting them and then using the excuse “I use it so I don’t kms, you need to be accepting of my coping strategies.” Like…IT ISNT YOUR HOODIE TO CUT UP
(Not that I want him SH’ing but I did it myself snd NEVER destroyed others’ belongings bc of it. It was my burden to bear and bear it I did)

Does anyone else have 5-10 comfort items they need with them at all times?
feels weird to compromise our comfort items to only 1000% necessary things we have to keep with us, yet taking three bags (our daily purple backpack, a handbag and a travel bag) with us all the time is too much, so ghhhh yes, some things have to stay at home and no they won't burst into flames or magically disappear (looking at ✨️). also fair to mention that 🤙🏾and 🥀🌸 don't ask to have their comfort items with us, only the two bat fidgets of 🤙🏾 and of course all worry stones, so we are able to have ours with us.
what has to stay at home: the big blue sea dragon plush, the big blue sea dragon fidget, the microwavable koala, two of the tiny music boxes (✨️'s and mine), my bird fidget, my turtle fidget, the triangle fidget, some smaller fidgets.
all those things are just as equally important and loved and needed, but we can't bring them everywhere, and we shouldn't.

I took him to Scotland around 2 years ago , but upon finishing the holiday and going home I accidentally left him at my Aunt's house and forgot where I put him :[[[
But, recently, my Aunt finally found him whilst doing some spring cleaning and gave him back to me, to which I took the photo above minutes later in celebration <333
(For those who don't know, Mr Wubby , named after Voltar's blanket from League Of Super Evil , is a stuffed toy I bought from a really nice charity shop I came across once. I liked the unique colouring on the teddy + I was age regressing at the time so I got it :333)
