THE  STREETS  ARE  FILLED  WITH  PEOPLE , GHOSTS  WALKING  AMONG  OTHER  CREATURES  OF  THE  NIGHT .  smell  of  garbage  in  her  nose ,  head  lowered  as  boots  marched  over  dirty  ground  to  dig  themselves  into  a  past  long  ago  (  but  never  forgotten  ) .  a  city  left  behind ,  a  life  exchanged  for  another  to  protect  what  could  not  protect  itself  back  then ,  a  high  price  to  pay  in  return .  MEMORIES  EVERYTHING  SHE  HAD  LEFT ,  fond  ones  that  allowed  woman  to  see  beneath  the  surface  of  rotten  place ,  to  blend  out  awful  scenery  of  streets  she  had  roamed  so  often .  candy  cotton  comes  to  her  mind ,  sweet  treasure  shared  on  a  funfair  while  grin  was  painted  on  young  girls  lips .  decades  had  passed ,  way  too  many  years  TO  HOPE ,  to  find  again  what  was  taken  from  her  so  violently .  MONSTERS  DON ‘ T  BELONG  ANYWHERE .  monsters  don ‘ t  deserve  to  be  loved .  a  sting  in  her  heart ,  sudden  cold  in  guts  spreading  in  every  inch  of  petite  body .  neon  lights  flicker  above  small  shop  ahead ,  taller  frame  registered  in  the  corner  of  her  eye .  A  BREAK ,  hues  trying  to  recollect ,  staring  at  haunted  being  while  small  bag  was  taken  shivering  .  DO  NOT  BE  NAIVE .  do  not  waste  your  time  on  dreams  of  former  self  !  !  seconds  passing  as  stranger  turned  to  leave  shady  drugstore ,  breath  held  in  panic  when  gloved  fingertips  froze  without  a  chance  of  control .  thoughts  as  well  as  stomach  started  to  twist ,  stiff  posture  made  it  impossible  to  move  on  (  DID  SHE  EVER  ?  ?  ) .  she  blinks ,  shock  hitting  her  hard  when  she  realized ,  RECOGNIZED  man  now  moving  towards  her .  this  must  be  a  trick  !  !  coincidences  did  not  exist ,  belief  put  on  proof  as  hand  instinctively  covered  womans  mouth  (  he  can  not  be  here  ) .   ❛   arthur  ?  ?  arthur  fleck  ?  ?  ❜  

     “ Oh good! Excellent! So you know about deep breaths, counting down from ten ? “

Least, these were methods she’s seen conducted on the television - various films, always played for easy learning of the mundane culture around her. Though, she’s yet to learn more on subtlety when it came to meeting others, or behaving more dull vs her excitable demeanor.
