Another anthology manga coloring experiment! This one was really fun and I learned a ton doing this one too!
I used an orangey analogous palette to imply time of day as well as the medium-high energy of the scene! It also let me play with emphasizing Riddleβs signature Red and Silverβs auroral hair and eyes!

Cover to Swamp Thing #38, July 1985. Depicted is a salmon-colored monstrosity with black and ice-blue hair growing out from under its helmet, while about to rise in front of a green muck monster covered partially in black shadows. Both opponents are surrounded by creatures oscillating in several purple tones down to nightly blue, while yellow eyes burn from further behind from those abominations staged as black silhouettes. The gradient starts out from the top of the page by lining up salmon before lavender, following up with deep purple. Artwork by Bissette & Totleben, the title logo is yellow on blue and got placed in the upper midst.
