The fight was as good as she had anticipated it. ThĂ©oâs defeat was of course, unforeseen and was not taken very lightly but alas, they had no choice but to accept it. On the bright side, Olivier won. Which meant the French were not completely defeated. It also meant that Delphine was able to walk out of Laraâs new establishment with a bit more sass to her walk and with her chin up high. Olivierâs win did more than just that, it put her in a celebratory mood. After getting out of the venue and en route to her place, she promised Olivier that theyâd go out to celebrate after she got out of her dress and into something more dance-appropriate.
Fifty minutes later, after trading her white, saint-like Ralph and Russo couture dress for a shorter and much more revealing black mini dress, they arrived at AU. They had no issues entering the premises, of course, and was immediately taken into the VIP room. âWeâll start with a couple of bottles of Dom,â Delphine told the waitress. âAnd weâll work our way in.â
âCongratulations,â she said to Olivier once the waitress left. âYou threw some very satisfying punches tonight. It was a marvelous thing to watch.â

After two glasses of RosĂ© and one of Prosecco, the venue started to get filled up a little bit more. New people started coming in and immediately went up to the bar. So after she ordered and retrieved a fresh glass of RosĂ©, Delphine pushed herself off of the bar stool and moved away from the bar and walked around. There were some familiar faces, some were of her clan and someâjudging from the looks they were giving her, were from the opposing ones.
âWhen does the fight start?â she asked Olivier as she was walking, trying to find a looser spot to be in. âIâm here for the drinks and the fight only and Iâm not sure how long Iâd last before I go up to one of these pests and rip their eyes out.â

When Delphine finally got home, it was awfully late and she was awfully spent. First, she went on a date to avoid attending a party. Secondly, her date brought her to the same party where she ran into Damon Rutherford and banged him again. In an elevator this time. And last but not least, the créme de la créme of the evening, she found out that her sex life, one she had tried to keep a secret, was hot news. That means, her job was and possibly her life were at stake. People could start questioning her loyalty and that would be the last thing she needed.
Everyone at home seemingly knew something was wrong. Her housekeeper, Madam Perusset, offered to draw her a bath and make her some tea when she got home, something she didnât do daily. Her two Doberman Pinschers, Hades & Persephone, stood tall beside Madam Perusset and watched Delphine enter the foyer from a few feet away instead of immediately approaching her with grace as they usually do when she got home. Their suspicion was confirmed when Delphine immediately went upstairs to the study and sat in her leather chair.
Delphineâs dogs, whose loyalties to her knew no bounds, stayed in the same room as hers while Madam Perusset left the room after being dismissedâpolitely of courseâby Delphine. Seeing no change in their mistressâ mood, the two canines kept their distance and watched as Delphine lit up a cigarette.Â
She knew she shouldâve returned Olivierâs calls or better yet, actually not snuck out of the event without him. But she just didnât want to deal with it yet. She needed to come up with a strategy, but she was already drunk from the drinks she had back at Rendezvous and she was rather pissed about everything.
Unable to handle it all, Delphine used her arm to sweep everything off the desk. The loud noise of the vase shattering against the floor caused her dogs to sit up and Madam Perusset to come back into the room and stood there, too scared to ask what was going on. She knew that the only person who could handle it was Olivier. Which was why she hurriedly left Delphine where she was and dialed Olivierâs number.
