Hello it's me again with another Cole request, I genuinely loved your last one so much🥹
This might be less fun because it's not as personal as the last one, but may I pretty please request Cole x fem!reader in which she's their usual food delivery driver?? With them living so far away from the city I feel like most drivers would quit sooner or later😭
A/N: Kate, so sorry this took so long I had no Idea what to add here. Also I've been busy I'm so sorry😭
A crush on the delivery girl
(Cole x reader)
Summary: For about a year now, Cole had developed a crush on the pizza delivery girl. Too bad asking you out is the only thing he couldn't do. Yet.
It wasn't uncommon for the ninja to have their delivery drivers quit due to them ordering so many pizzas after every mission, or when Zane didn't feel like cooking. Because of the drivers quitting, bets were formed to see which one would last longer than a few months.
But when you came along, Cole was a total mess. The first time you met, he froze by the sight of you. His arms visibly shook as he tried to take the boxes of pizza from you. From sheer panic, he slammed the gates closed moments after taking the food from you. Jay had to be the one to hand you the payment because Cole only remembered after slamming the gate shut in front of you.
Of course, the ninja were there and had witnessed Cole being flustered for the first time. And after that day, the teasing grew. Every delivery you make, the team would say stuff to Cole that would make him turn red and wished the ground could swallow him whole. Even Zane joined in on the fun every once and awhile. Cole just hoped that you wouldn't last longer than 2 months.
To his luck, you lasted for about a year. Well, almost a year without Cole ever saying a proper word to you. Or even talking to you. But one thing is for sure, he's gaining confidence. Sorta. Sometimes, he would even order for delivery just to see you. It doesn't matter to him that there was already food on the table.
After a few more months passed, he finally did it. After a year of stumbling his words, he finally had asked for your number. You complied and gave it to him without any doubt. You had to admit to yourself, It was cute watching him try.
You agreed on a date and wanted to get to know him better other than the "black/earth ninja". But due to his life as one, there were times it felt like you got stood up. You don't exactly blame him, he's a busy guy saving the world from danger with his friends.
Cole had apologized several times and continued to make plans to make it up but would always end the same—you wait for hours, stay to give him time to arrive, then leave the moment he texted you apologizing.
You understood him but you can't put up with it.
The ninja felt guilty for dragging him to low level threat missions and wanted to help him, they gave him a day off but it was clear he blew it with you. So they came up with a plan.
"Are you guys sure about this?" Cole watched as his friends ran around trying to replicate the scenery of the restaurant you two were supposed to have your date in their living room.
"Hey!" Scolded Jay, "be grateful we are even doing this!" He wasn't being serious, in fact, it was his idea. Cole helped him be with Nya(in a way), and Jay wanted to return the favor.
"Guys, you really don't have to," he scratched the back of his head, "besides I already blew it with her—"
Kai walked over and slung an arm around her shoulder, "dude, how long have you been crushing on her? Half a year? This is your chance to make it right!"
Cole sighed in defeat, "if she permanently stops talking to me I'm blaming you guys."
---
a year of tolerating your manager's constantly berating you of your every move, on top of being ghosted at every date with a guy you thought was decent, you finally quit and left that horrible environment. You stayed in your parents' house while applying for another job when you heard a ping from your phone.
A message from Cole.
Cole: Hey
Cole: Can we talk?
You stared at it for a while, contemplating whether you want to reply or ignore it. A part of you felt curious; this was the first time you two talked since your failed date at the park. But the other part of you wanted to ignore him. You were still butthurt by how he accidentally stood you up at every date. But sadly, curiosity killed the cat.
---
You stood outside your parents' house, waiting for Cole. He didn't specify why or where he was taking you, he only told you to dress up casually. And you did.
You didn't get your hopes up this time, but you were still clinging on to a little bit of hope within you. Cole seemed genuine about making things right but you didn't want to give him more chances right after he ruined the previous ones.
5 minutes had passed, your feet were already aching. You were about to head back inside when a car pulled right over your front porch—Cole. He rushed out of the driver's and walked in front of you.
"Hey.." Said Cole, you noticed him avoiding eye contact with you. He forced himself to look away, but looking at the way you dressed made him fall for you even more.
"Hey." You replied. You took a step closer, now standing face-to-face with him. There was only silence between you two, as if one of you was waiting for the other to talk. "Are you going to let me in?"
Cole snapped out of his gaze before rushing to open his car door.
The ride on the way to the monastery was quiet, to say the least. The two of you sat in his car, as it somehow felt like the air grew heavier by the moment. You couldn't believe that you managed to agree to this when you've been trying desperately to avoid him. You wanted to turn back, maybe even tell him to just drop you off at the sidewalk—anything to get out of this awkward mess. While you were contemplating your thoughts, Cole couldn't help but sneak peaks at you; the way you dressed, how you fixed your hair and make up—everything just made him adore you like how he adores the sight of chocolate cake—a terrible comparison, Cole.
But nonetheless, everything about you just made him even more determined to get you back, and officially be his.
It wasn't long until you two finally reached the familiar monastery of spinjitzu. Thanks to Pixal's upgrade on his vehicle that you two didn't get stuck in traffic.
You never really saw the interior of the monastery, but you were 100% sure it wasn't meant to look like a—terribly designed—restaurant. On your left, you could see Cole facepalm from the corner of your eye, and even mutter something under his breath.
Before you could even say something, two men—Lloyd in a mustache and a tacky suit—came up to the two of you.
"Good day, sir and madam," said the blond with a terribly spoken Italian accent.
Next to you, Cole slowly wanted to die and be a ghost again. He could make the ground swallow him whole, but he didn't want to leave you with his idiot friends.
It was amusing—ridiculous—but amusing.
After a while, you and Cole followed Lloyd to your table. Cole was visibly annoyed with this whole idea, but for the sake of winning you back, he just let it be. Finally, you two sat down. The team somehow managed to turn their living room into a somewhat romantic atmosphere—the lighting, the candle lit set up, and the music that is definitely not playing from Kai's phone, connected to a speaker.
"Wow..." you commented, "what an effort."
Cole sighed deeply. He just wished you would go home early so he could scream at his idiot friends. He just wondered why and HOW they got Nya to be a part of this. Speaking of which, the moment Lloyd left, Nya walked by and handed out "menus" made from cardboard and a printed picture of a menu with your favorite meals. This just made Cole not want to talk to his friends till the end of time.
As time passed, your food arrived, you and Cole were deep into a conversation about this new show you were into, while his friends were most likely watching the two of you from a hidden camera. He reached over and took your hand, smiling at you the moment you two locked eyes.
"Hey, I'm sorry for all of this—you probably think this is stupid."
"Stupid?" You raised a brow, amused by how disappointed and embarrassed he looked. "This is actually nice..." you admitted, "I'm glad your friends are helping you make an effort—even if it's something as silly as this."
Cole was caught off guard for a moment, but soon, he smiled at you. "I'm glad you liked it.. and about me missing out on dates—I'm sorry about that too. I really do enjoy being with you, and I promise I didn't do all of that on purpose—I want to be with you." His words were unsurprisingly genuine, but it still caught you off guard. "How can I make it up to you?"
"You don't have to—"
"I want to! I mean—you already wasted so much time just waiting for me, I want to do something for you—to make it up to you."
You squeezed his hand, "hey, how about we eat dinner first then talk about that?"
Cole was quiet for a while, he knew he should listen, but his stubbornness was fighting back. But he eventually agreed with you. And he smiled.
And you smiled back.
(A/N: Omg I finally finished this, this has been in my drafts for so long. Also, Ignore the shitty ending. I might edit this in the future.
