Gear up, Colonial Marines! A special update for Aliens: Fireteam Elite dropped at the perfect time for Alien Day, the unofficial holiday celebrating the iconic sci-fi franchise. Released on April 26th (a nod to LV-426, the moon from the original Alien film), update 1.40 (version 1.040 on PS5) brings some welcome improvements for players. Let's dive into the details of this update and explore its significance for the Aliens: Fireteam Elite community. Fireteam Elite Celebrates Alien Day A Boon for Credit Grinders: Increased Currency Cap One of the most notable changes introduced in update 1.40 is the significant increase in the in-game currency limit. Previously, players were capped at 50,000 credits. This limit could feel restrictive, especially for dedicated players who were consistently grinding credits to purchase new weapons, attachments, and cosmetics. With the update, the credit cap has been doubled to a much more comfortable 100,000. This allows players to accumulate a larger credit reserve, giving them more freedom to experiment with different builds and customizations without constantly worrying about hitting the limit. No More Challenge Card Woes: Free SSGT Park Challenge Maps Another pain point addressed in update 1.40 is the frustration of losing challenge cards when a mission fails or the host disconnects. Challenge cards offer unique modifiers that alter gameplay and provide additional rewards upon completion. Losing them due to unforeseen circumstances could be disheartening. Thankfully, Cold Iron Studios heard the community's concerns. Update 1.40 makes all challenge map packs in the SSGT Park store completely free. This ensures players always have access to a pool of challenge cards, even if they encounter unfortunate mission failures or disconnects. The Future of Aliens: Fireteam Elite: Moving On to New Horizons While update 1.40 provides some positive changes for players, it's important to acknowledge Cold Iron Studios' previous announcement regarding the future of Aliens: Fireteam Elite. The studio has openly stated that they have moved on to a new, unannounced project. This doesn't necessarily mean the end for Aliens: Fireteam Elite. The game may continue to receive minor maintenance updates and bug fixes to ensure a smooth player experience. However, fans shouldn't expect a steady stream of major content updates going forward. Conclusion: A Fitting Tribute for Alien Day Update 1.40 for Aliens: Fireteam Elite serves as a thoughtful gesture for the game's dedicated fanbase. The increased credit cap and free challenge maps demonstrate Cold Iron Studios' commitment to enhancing the player experience, even as they focus on their next project. With these changes in place, Alien Day becomes an even more exciting time to jump back into Aliens: Fireteam Elite and face the horrors of Xenomorphs with your fellow marines. FAQs Q: What does update 1.40 bring to Aliens: Fireteam Elite? A: Update 1.40 increases the in-game currency limit to 100,000 credits and makes all challenge map packs in the SSGT Park store free. Q: Why are challenge maps free now? A: Cold Iron Studios addressed player frustration regarding losing challenge cards due to mission failures or disconnects. Making them free ensures players always have access to a pool of challenge cards. Q: Will Aliens: Fireteam Elite receive more major content updates? A: While update 1.40 brings some improvements, Cold Iron Studios has moved on to a new project. The focus might shift towards bug fixes and minor maintenance updates for Aliens: Fireteam Elite.

Aliens: Fireteam Survival Shooter Game Release Sets on 2021 & Aliens: Fireteam is a cooperative third-person survival shooter in which three-player teams must fight swarms of the interstellar creatures to complete the mission and get out alive. The game is from #ColdIronStudios, the San Jose-based game studio, developed in collaboration with Disney’s 20th Century Games unit. & The game is set 23 years after the conclusion of the original #Alientrilogy, with players taking on the roles of fresh Colonial Marines recruits aboard the ship Endeavor. The Marines receive a mysterious distress call that sends them to the colony LV-895, which sports an orbital refinery called Katanga that was supposed to have been lost decades earlier. & There are five playable classes gunner, demolisher, technician, doc and recon — each with unique abilities and perks, and individual skill trees to upgrade. Players run these characters through 12 #campaign missions, and then replay these levels with altered loadouts, squadmates, difficulty levels and Challenge Cards. & #AliensFireteam is built to be played online with public matchmaking, though there's an option to run private games, too. https://www.instagram.com/p/CL8ZBCuHZGD/?igshid=1mu33a0kzbhv9
