Pakistani Cowgirl (Part III) . . . A cowgirl reimagined in the Sarfaranga Desert in Gilgit-Baltistan 🏜 (Sarfaranga Desert is one of the highest deserts in the world and can see sand covered with snow in cold months!! ❄) This region is home to K2, the world's second-highest mountain! Details within the piece: The hat is decorated with features resembling the traditional style of Gilgit embroidery and jewellery. Rubies and garnet are native to the region and also embellish the hat. Stones such as aquamarine, sapphire and emeralds are also found close to the region in areas such as Swat and are used in the rings on her hands. The cloth draped over the horse underneath the saddle is inspired by Kalashi fabric and embroidery as is the harness around the horse.
