You can enjoy the perfect cup of coffee with either the Chemex 8-Cup Coffee Maker or the French Press. Pick the brewing style you like best for a rich and fragrant coffee experience.
Ingredients: 45g of coarsely ground coffee beans. 720ml of filtered water. Chemex 8-Cup Coffee Maker. French Press.
Instructions: Pour 720ml of filtered water into a kettle and bring it to a boil. While the water is heating, place a Chemex 8-Cup Coffee Maker and a French Press on your countertop. Once the water is boiling, let it cool for about 30 seconds to reach a temperature of approximately 200F 93C. For the Chemex method: Place a Chemex paper filter in the Chemex brewer and rinse it with hot water to remove any paper taste. Discard the rinse water. Add 45g of coarsely ground coffee beans to the Chemex filter. Start a timer and pour just enough hot water about 100ml over the coffee grounds to saturate them evenly. Allow it to bloom for 30 seconds. After the bloom, slowly pour the remaining hot water in a spiral motion over the coffee grounds, keeping them fully immersed. Total pour time should be around 4-5 minutes. Once the coffee has finished dripping into the Chemex, remove the filter and serve. For the French Press method: Add 45g of coarsely ground coffee beans to the French Press. Pour the remaining hot water about 620ml over the coffee grounds in the French Press. Place the lid on the French Press with the plunger pulled all the way up to trap heat and aroma. Let the coffee steep for about 4 minutes. After steeping, slowly press down the plunger to separate the grounds from the liquid. Pour the freshly brewed coffee into your favorite mug and enjoy!
