It’s an old, old, old style of shipping name, popular in the late 90s and early 00s. It fell out of favour when more advanced tagging systems started to occur, making slashes and X’s the dominant style (though of course, X and Y Romance and slashes existed concurrently), before another dramatic change in the dominant fandom platforms meant that spaces and slashes were risky, causing hybrid names to become the popular choice.
The preceding style was, of course, extremely intricate phrase names. Things like “what makes the desert beautiful shipping,” a system which divergently evolved alongside hybrid names. That format simplified a bit, down to 1-3 word phrases, and is mostly restricted in modern spaces to the Pokemon fandom, which still uses names like, “Spectral Color Shipping” and “Perfect World Shipping.” Some outliers still exist with full length phrases, like, “If you KNow What I Mean Shipping,” but they’ve mostly disappeared.
