Introducing CMMG's DL44 Blaster Suppressor: Top Features
CMMG launches the DL44 Blaster Suppressor
CMMG has introduced the DL44 Blaster Suppressor, designed for rimfire use with improved aesthetics. It features removable end caps and baffles for easy maintenance and reassembly, ensuring optimal sound suppression. Rated for .22 LR full-auto and .17 HMR/.22 Mag semi-auto, it is compatible with 1/2 X 28 threaded firearms.
CMMG states “The new DL44…
The suppressor market has absolutely exploded in recent years. One of the catalysts for this is people shooting much more than decades ago and the shear number of people excited to exercise their freedoms. Suppressors used to be something a bit of mysterious people only knew about from the movies. One of the issues that prospective new suppressor owners have presented to them is th3 void of more budget priced suppressors that can be used in hard use scenarios. Most of if not all of the budget suppressors out there might be a cheaper price but won't be full auto rated and if they are, there's restrictions or they cost 3x the price. Enter the CMMG Zeroed line of suppressors where affordability and durability go hand in hand. Now available from Brownells, the CMMG Zeroed line of suppressors is here to meet that need.
CMMG has long been known for its rimfire conversion kits, PCCs and various other rifle platforms. CMMG is doing great th8ngs across their product lines so it was not a surprise when they announced the Zeroed suppressor line. These range from rimfire rated supppressors all the way up to large bore 46 caliber suppresssors. Pretty much everyone and every caliber is covered by their suppressors.
To keep the costs down, these are welded baffle stacks that are welded to a blast chamber. Once welded these are nitrided inside and out. The Zeroed suppressors are not user serviceable which typically adds some complexity in manufacturing and of course an added cost that's passed on to the consumer. The nitrided finish allows for less carbon build up as well as easier cleaning of the suppressor when needed. Included with each suppressor is a HUB adapter for 1/2x28 as well as a 5/8x24 adapter for 30 caliber and larger suppressors. Unlike many competitors, CMMG included these adapters so that the consumer can pick up their suppressor once approved and head straight to the range without any need to purchasing an adapter since these thread pitches cover the majority of common barrel threading. The HUB compatibility really helps expand the available muzzle device adapters available for the CMMG line of suppressors. In addition, CMMG machines a 3/8" ratchet mount on the muzzle end to assist in the removal and installation of HUB devices and stuck onto muzzle devices.
What about performance? CMMG Zeroed suppressors offer extreme performance for the budget price. Full auto rated and a great sound tone.... these suppressors do a great job of blurring those lines between budget and expensive. The only disadvantage might be the weight of the Zeroed suppressors is maybe a tad bit more than some other suppressors, but still not really as heavy as some other cans. I've been extremely impressed with the Zeroed 36K suppressor I've had in my collection.
So if you're looking for your next suppressor, be sure to check out the Zeroed line of suppressors from CMMG. Brownells now carries the entire line up and consistently have them in stock for immediate delivery. So check out the CMMG Zeroed suppressors, I think you'll be impressed with what they have to offer as was I.

CMMG’s .22 LR barrel offerings are built around the idea of transforming a standard AR-15 platform into a dedicated rimfire system, and their designs reflect a balance between training practicality, mechanical compatibility, and long-term durability. Unlike simple drop-in conversion kits, these barrels are purpose-built to optimize the performance of .22 Long Rifle ammunition, particularly in terms of accuracy and reliability.
One of the defining characteristics of CMMG .22 LR barrels is their material composition. Most models are machined from 4140 chrome-moly steel, a widely used firearm-grade alloy known for its strength and resistance to wear under repeated firing. This steel is typically treated with a salt-bath nitride finish, which hardens the surface and significantly improves corrosion resistance while reducing friction inside the bore. The result is a barrel that can withstand the inherently dirty nature of rimfire ammunition, which tends to leave more fouling than centerfire cartridges.
In terms of dimensions, CMMG offers a range of barrel lengths tailored to different use cases. Compact configurations, such as the 4.5-inch barrel, are popular for pistol builds or suppressed setups, while longer options like the 9.2-inch barrel cater to users seeking improved velocity and sight radius. Regardless of length, these barrels typically feature a 1:16 twist rate, which is the standard for stabilizing .22 LR projectiles effectively. This twist rate is a critical distinction from standard 5.56 NATO barrels, which often use faster twists that can negatively impact rimfire accuracy.
Threading is another consistent feature across CMMG’s lineup. Most barrels include 1/2x28 threads at the muzzle, allowing compatibility with a wide range of muzzle devices such as suppressors, flash hiders, or compensators. This enhances versatility, especially for shooters who want to replicate the handling characteristics of their centerfire rifles while using inexpensive rimfire ammunition. The inclusion of standard AR-15 barrel extensions and compatibility with mil-spec upper receivers further reinforces this adaptability, making installation straightforward for most users.
Versatility is one of the strongest selling points of CMMG’s .22 LR barrels. They are designed to work in conjunction with conversion bolts and dedicated collars, allowing users to convert a standard AR-15 upper into a rimfire-specific platform. This setup eliminates the accuracy compromises associated with firing .22 LR through a 5.56 barrel, where mismatched chamber dimensions and rifling can degrade performance. Dedicated barrels solve this by incorporating a true .22 LR chamber and proper bore geometry, resulting in tighter groupings and more consistent cycling.
Durability is closely tied to both the materials and the operating characteristics of .22 LR ammunition. Rimfire rounds generate lower pressures than centerfire cartridges, which reduces mechanical stress on the barrel. At the same time, the nitride finish helps mitigate the effects of lead and carbon buildup, which are common with .22 LR use. Regular cleaning is still necessary, but the barrel itself is engineered to handle high round counts without significant degradation.
From a value perspective, CMMG barrels occupy a practical middle ground. They are not the cheapest option on the market, but they offer a combination of reliability, compatibility, and purpose-built accuracy that justifies the cost for many users. By enabling inexpensive training with .22 LR ammunition while maintaining the ergonomics of an AR-15, these barrels can significantly reduce long-term shooting expenses. Additionally, their compatibility with standard components minimizes the need for specialized parts, further enhancing their overall value.
In summary, CMMG .22 LR barrels are constructed from durable chrome-moly steel with advanced surface treatments, offered in multiple lengths to suit different configurations, and engineered with the correct twist rate and chamber dimensions for rimfire performance. Their versatility in adapting AR-15 platforms, combined with solid durability and cost-effective training benefits, makes them a well-rounded option for shooters seeking a dedicated .22 LR solution.

Check out CMMG 22LR BARREL ASSEMBLY FOR AR-15 with 3 reviews and an overall rating of 5.0, available Online at Brownells Today and many more
There’s no doubt that most all of us started out our dive into firearms as youngsters shooting various rimfire firearms. For me it was single action revolvers made by Ruger and Colt. I also had the opportunity as a kid to shoot some Marlin and Savage semi-automatic and lever action rimfire rifles. These of course are all very classic setups. Today my focus is a lot on more modernized firearms like the AR-15 and it’s seemingly endless number of variants. Now to put the AR-15 together with some rimfire flare… this is something that I feel everyone should have to help introduce new shooters to the AR-15 platform but also to just have a ton of fun with. Now there are a number of companies that produce proprietary AR-15 look alike rifles in .22 long rifle and those are just fine and dandy, but what if you want more? What if you want the ability to move things around just like you would with a standard AR-15? Well stick around and I’ll give you the details on how you can achieve just that.
Brownells carries pretty much everything you’ll need in order to embark on a project like this. At the heart of this build is the barrel and bolt carrier assembly. CMMG which is renowned for their rimfire conversion kits for the AR-15 also make a dedicated barrel assembly with a bolt carrier group that installs inside of a standard AR-15 upper receiver. No gas tube since it’s direct blowback and comes threaded 1/2x28 for common flash hiders or a whisper pickle (suppressor) which is my muzzle device of choice. The barrels can be had in different lengths but I chose the 4.5” length as I knew I wanted a short barrel and to tuck a can under the handguard. For the receiver I chose an Aero Precision upper receiver and one of their handguard systems. I run just a standard charging handle but you could use a variety of different charging handle if you would like. This upper receiver has been swapped around to a number of different lower setups over the years, but most currently I’ve been running it on a Spike’s Tactical Crusader lower receiver fitted with a Primary Weapon Systems Buffer tube, an SBA5 pistol brace from SB Tactical and of course a Geissele SSA-E X Bow trigger assembly. As for the suppressor, I’ve run my TacSol Cascade Ti in the past but these days I mainly run my Rugged Oculus modular rimfire can since it’s user serviceable. With a basic red dot, this thing will hit steel out at 50 yards with boring regularity.
This rimfire AR-15 build is probably one of the most fun you can have in a small package. Super quiet running the suppressor and appropriate subsonic ammo. Cheat code: use CCI Standard velocity target 40 gr ammo if you want to save a bit over anything labeled as “subsonic”. I regularly pick up bricks of this stuff from Brownells in addition to my other orders. This one is always a hit anything I bring it out to the range. People can shoot it as much as they want and it’s easy and cheap to do so.
