Empathy ≠ sympathy. They frequently co-exist but they are DIFFERENT.

Not having empathy doesn't mean I don't care about people, it means I can't understand their emotions or correctly imagine myself in their situation.

I can still care without grasping it.

I struggle with it because I consistently fail to connect with others, and have low emotional intelligence.

I know right from wrong, but am almost always unable to feel your feelings with you, and “put myself in your shoes” per se.

I tried bringing up both BPD and NPD with my therapist and with BPD she shrugged and put it under a rug and then later with NPD she was almost offended? Immediately denying it and saying that I possibly can't have NPD because I care for people and ain't a self-centred asshole. "Noo you're too kind to be a narcissist!!", literally what she said.

Like????? You didn't even ask further???? Cuz I've gone through the symptoms and criteria??? Of both of them??? I literally hit the criteria?????? Way more than required??? And you're immediately telling me no because I'm too thoughtful and caring???????????

me saying "not to be a narcissist" before complimenting myself is funny bc im a narcissist. its funny bc im egotistical and view myself as superior. thats the joke. im not "just confident" im a narcissist

i cant even make narc abuse jokes either. i cant go "im narc abusing you" when im being mean.

Ie: how shark attacks are accidental, how sharks are misunderstood, how sharks dont intend to hurt humans.
