So, I'll try to make a top ten of my favorite spyro worlds. In no particular order. Not an easy list to make, there are some realms I would probably swap for others.
1. Evening Lake - This level is just so gorgeous. The music and the atmosphere here makes me feel relaxed and I always wondered who the castle belonged too (presumably the Sorceress), although none of her minions are found there. Love the castle!
2. Charmed Ridge - The sky is beautiful, it is very fairytale like, the wizard cats are some of my favorite NPC's and the story about the princess running away with her lover is wild lmao.
3. Lofty Castle - Another gorgeous level. So dreamy, I don't think there are much games out there that capture the atmosphere and aesthetic of the spyro games.
4. Dark Hollow - This level reminds me of when I was a kid and I would go to sleep with a nightlight and a little bit of cold. It also has one of the best soundtracks of the first game imo.
5. Frostbite Village - I love snowy levels. It has charming music and it is big enough to wonder off.
6. Frozen Altars - Another beautiful snow level. I like the arquitecture of the Temples. Let's ignore that boxing match though lol.
7. Autumn Plains - Autumn is one of my favorite seasons, it makes me feel very homy and so does this level. I also loved being able to explore the castle and go all the way to the top. I also wonder who rules here, there are many empty castles in Avalar, with no real indication of who the inhabitants might be.
8. Summer Forest - It is a really nice level and the music is very relaxing.
9. Cloudy Domain - This particular section of Cloudy Domain is one of Sgt. Bird's speedway levels. It is one of my favorite parts of this world.
10. Sunken Ruins - Not the most gorgeous level, but I like how it is most likely a reference to Atlantis and the fact that it is an underground lost city in the sea. It is easy to get lost here and the music is really good.

“Time to reach the sky, in this “Cloudy Domain” level. What a beautiful level. Gorgeous color scheme, great platforming sections and some interesting gimmicks. I am a fan.”

Ryū was extremely nervous when she first when to meet wee Hina. As an adopted child herself, she wanted to give the same good first impression Manami had given her. Ryū manages to convince Hinata to let her hair grow longer…if only so she can style it in her spare time. I think Hinata would be curious about Ryū’s Shinto beliefs, and she’d be more than happy to teach her - among other things, like tea ceremonies and flower arranging. All of the hobbies to bond over =D The medic also usually ends up keeping an eye on Sasuke when he’s not in class, given that his parents are often busy, as is his brother. She may or may not ship Hinata with Sasuke, and subtly gives them hints to bond ;3c

Hearing the tiny voice beside her, Ryū turns from the dishes she’s doing in the sink. “Shōnō? Do you need something, dear?” Turning off the water, she dries her hands and gives the child her full attention, a soft smile on her face. “What is it?”

🌒 sleep prompt

After Hinata’s…encouraged adoption by Ryū, it takes several weeks before the little Hyūga is able to sleep on her own. At first afraid due to the strict upbringing within her clan, it doesn’t take long for her to latch onto Ryū’s proffered kindness, staying her her bed at night. Long after she’s secure enough to sleep on her own, the medic has to put her foot down to get the child to return to her own bed to sleep.

Seated along the front steps, Ryū hums a quiet melody as she runs a comb through Hinata’s hair, still damp from her bath. The sun is already setting on the autumn day, and a slight chill lies beneath the air. Soon she’ll need to take the child inside, but for now, they watch the clouds alight in a myriad of colors over the compound wall. “Onēchan!” Perking up at the other tiny voice, Ryū smiles. “Konbanwa, Sasuke!” The Uchiha sets his bag at the bottom of the stairs, and shyly takes a seat beside them. “Is aniki here?” “No, he’s not - are you trying to find him?” “He said he’d train me, but now it’s getting dark and he’s still not here…” Sasuke pouts, elbows on his knees and chin in his hands. Ryū gives him a small smile. “He’s been very busy lately, but I’m sure as soon as he’s able, he’ll help you. It’s not always easy being in his position. Maybe tomorrow, you can take Hinata-chan with you, hm? You can show her what you’ve learned so far!” The children glance to one another, both with pink in their cheeks. “…o-okay,” the Uchiha relents. “But…if you see aniki, tell him I was looking for him, okay?” “I will.” Taking up his bag again, Sasuke waves before taking his leave. Looking around to Hinata’s face, Ryū smiles slyly. “Does that sound like fun?” Hinata ducks into her towel, not replying. “Well…we’d better get inside - don’t want you catching a cold with a wet head, hm?” Scooping her up, Ryū takes Hinata inside, shutting the door with a soft snap.
