which Paladin do you think would enjoy meteorology the most?
I think it would be Pidge.
How did it start? At first, she and Matt would often sneak out through her window to sit on the roof, just to relax and laugh: “that cloud looks like a peanut.” Later, she realized that looking at the sky under certain circumstances actually made her work easier, and that’s how she slowly began to study meteorology.
But after the Kerberos mission? She became an expert at it. Even the smallest cloud could interfere with her attempts — first to simply reach the crew, and later to catch any signal at all, just to confirm her family was still alive. In truth, it became almost her only source of comfort, a way to hold on to something joyful.
During her time with Voltron, she thought this knowledge would turn out to be as useless as so many other things. But once she adapted, she quickly realized it actually helped on missions across different planets.
And one day, when Lance started a silly back-and-forth like “what does this cloud look like,” Pidge didn’t even notice how she got completely pulled into it. Only much later did she realize that this was Lance’s way (and the team’s, too) of cheering her up.
P.S. Honestly, I had no clue what meteorology even meant before this question — so I hope I got the idea right.
