hrmm. as someone who struggles to admit to actually being hungry and being so embarrassed about saying it that generally I'd rather die: I'm thinking about a scenario in which you make someone go hungry and refuse to feed them until they can actually bring themselves to say it, that yes they're hungry and want/need something to eat

Life is so strange. You have a family emergency. Your boss gives you a raise. Your favorite coffee brand is on sale. You decide you have to break up with your partner. You get sick. You find a new brand of soup that you love. You watch a movie that changes your life. There’s another family emergency. You’re in the hospital until 4am trying to figure out what’s wrong. A stranger tells you your kindness made their day a little better. Prices increased at your favorite local ramen shop. It’s finally warm enough to keep the windows open. There are birds out there, singing. You bump into an old friend who stopped talking to you and never told you why. You become a regular at a coffee shop and the barista knows your drink, then your name. You have another family emergency. You do laundry and think about cutting your hair. It’s sunny. Your boss thanks you for your hard work. Your favorite candle just burnt out. You have canned soup and bread for dinner.
