This quote feels appropriate on multiple levels! For one, during this part of the movie, Leia definitely seems to be sensing some shadows through the Force. She feels anxious as she knows deep down that not everything is as it seems in Cloud City.
Secondly, I spent over 500 hours embroidering my cloak, using a method called shadow work. The underside of the pattern is filled in and the ends are hidden so it looks as finished from that side as it does from the front, only with more “shadows.” It’s amazing to me how even the details of Leia’s costume design fit with the themes of Cloud City and its shadowy underside.
