Current Tavern Brawl Thoughts
Is it just me, or is this week’s Tavern Brawl (#52 Cloneball) all about the RNG? I mean, there’s some strategy, but if you get the wrong cards and they get the right ones, you’re screwed from turn 1.
Now last week’s Tavern Brawl (#51 Cart Crash at the Crossroads) had a LOT of potential. Blended decks? Yes please. I just wished you could have customized them more... there’s some ideas I would have enjoyed playing with.

cloneball replied to your post:so… i added an about page
That’s a nice picture omg
(⌒///⌒)ゞ its an ok picture i guess.
Good morning/afternoon/evening! I'm thinking of getting into competitive play but before I -attempt to- build a team I was curious on something. I'm always seeing 252/252/4 and I was wondering if it were better to spread the EVs/points out a little bit more or to just focusing on mainly two stats like above?
It really depends on the pokémon. Although more often than not in my experience, it can be beneficial to spread them out a little more. The key is figuring out what role you want each of your pokémon to play, and applying the EV’s accordingly.
For example:
If you’re using milk drink for healing on a Gogoat, you put 252 into HP so that the 50% health you recover is a much larger number.
Alternatively, if you’re using horn leech for recovery, you create its bulk by Eving in Def/Sdef, lowering its HP without really effecting its ability to take hits. This lowered HP means the health you get back from horn leech equates to far more of your overall total.
Also, Eving in really unorthodox ways can throw of your opponents assumptions/predictions, giving you an element of surprise that can lead to a serious upper hand.
For example:
My Scyther doesn’t have any attack EV’s.
Wtf eh :)
I’m not going into detail as to why, because being a type specialist (BUG in my case) means my pokémon share many weaknesses in common. My tricks and secrets are what keep me in the fight.
