#clobbopus

That is a Clobbopus. They are a really common sight in the battle landscape here in Galar, as they are really active and easy to train. However, not a lot people get them as pets. Nevertheless, I am going to give a few tips on how to handle these Pokemon.

1. They are reminiscent of children.

Clobbopus are, as described in the Pokédex, “as smart as a three year old.” While in my time as a Pokemon daycare worker I’ve come to disagree with notion, I have agreed that there behavior does remind me a bit of human children. They are immensely curios, punching anything with their tentacles that is new to them, and throw tantrums constantly. When owning a Clobbopus, you should be aware of their outbursts and their curiousity, so you know how to placate them and to make sure they don’t punch anybody.

2. Let them punch things!

Of course, you should still let them punch something. It is one of their most basic forms of enrichment, and trust me, Clobbopus need that enrichment. They must be one of the most active Pokemon I’ve ever seen. Either keep them in battle if your a trainer if you want to exert their energy, or get them a large object that hard to break for them to punch, like a large log, a punching bag, an old car you can’t fix, etc.

3. Their arms can come off.

This is something that I think anybody who takes care of a Clobbopus should know, or else they’d be in for a huge surprise. Clobbopus, as a natural defense mechanism, can have their tentacles fall off in stressful or unwanted situations. It doesn’t hurt them, and it can grow back after a couple of days, but what counts as an unwanted or stressful situation can go as far as someone is trying to put them to bed and they don’t want to go to sleep (This is how I discovered they can do this). Just as a word of warning, be careful.

As i've gotten back into pokemon my Husband has also been sort of half collecting various turtle shaped creatures. Until he saw Clobbopus. Now hes obsessed.

I haven't encountered many in the wild. I think it's mostly where I'm from, though. Inky and Malamar aren't from the same spots in Galar, and most of the work I do is on land. Even still, I know some stuff about them.

Pokemon Crossbreeds: Supervillain

Supervillain is the name for members of the Grapploct line who's father is a member of the Malamar line. The breed gets its name from its appearance from a popular Galarian kid's comic supervillain, "Mr. Grabbamar." The breed isn't rare, but it's not common either. They mostly come about from female Grapploct migrating from colder regions to more temporal lakes or beaches in search of food and subsequently coming across a Malamar. It's been purposely bred by humans since the 1990s, when pokemon battling took off.

Clobbopus

Supervillain clobbopus gain the traits of Inkay, including a lighter-shade of blue on their skin, eyes resembling inkay's, and pink suction cups instead of orange. They are more skittish than tbe standard breed, yet they are still as curious as standard breed grapploct. They'll observe unfamiliar pokemon and flash their lights to try and scare them away. As they aren't psychic types, their lights don't do much in the mental department for the enemy pokemon, but it can still be pretty disorienting.

Grapploct

Supervillain Grapploct gains the traits of Malamar. These Grapploct hunt like Malamar, moving their arms on hypnotic ways to lure in opponents and their prey. There's been reports of them mistaking submarines for pokemon and trying to lure them in with a light, only to attack them.

Safe to Breed?: If it's a Grapploct and Malamar, yes. They have similar breeding habits and are close enough in height for it to be safe. Don't breed Clobbopus with Malamar or Inkay with Grapploct.
