Head Over Heels, one of the musicals of all time. This poor himbo is wandering around the woods, then a nonbinary oracle appears out of nowhere to say, "I'm going to tell you what you need to do to reunite with your girlfriend. Step One: You need to crossdress."
Cleophila + Pride Flags
mmmmm I love hoh.
me and @sillywhimm went to see the AMAZING new bway show, head over heels. she drew and lined this, i just did the colours.
its philoclea and ‘cleophila’ from the show. THEY BABES.
Chip On My Shoulder or Take It Like A Man?
hmmm I think it’s Take It Like a Man, because like clearly there’s a shift in their relationship there and that’s such an important moment for both of them. plus, Elle tells Emmett that she wouldn’t change anything about him other than to make the outside match the person he already is, and that’s like one of the most romantic moments in the whole show.

2. What musical got you really into theatre?
I’ve loved theatre honestly as long as I can remember!! but some favorites as a child were Fiddler on the Roof, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Guys and Dolls. I also owe a lot to a compilation cd my mom bought me when I was maybe like 7 or 8 called Broadway Kids, which featured a bunch of child actors who’d been in musicals singing songs from musicals. I loved them so much, I was desperate to be one of them honestly.
3. Who was your first Broadway crush?
god probably Adam Pascal as Roger in Rent. I also had a crush on Motel the tailor from Fiddler because I thought he was sweet and I love his song.
6. Favourite off-broadway show:
I haven’t looked much into it yet, but just the fact that there’s an off-Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish is amazing, I love that.
33. Current showtune stuck in you head:
because it was playing when I got out of the car just now, The View From Here from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. but when I first read this question while I was at work, I had (Let’s Start) Tomorrow Tonight from Smash stuck in my head.
You may have already talked about this, since you post a lot of LB headcanons, but when do you think Emmett realized he was totally crazy for Elle?
oh wow, that is such a good question.
I think the first time Emmett knew he was in trouble was watching Elle help Paulette get her dog back. he saw her compassion shine through, and her joy at helping her friend, and suddenly alarm bells started going off in his head. but at that point he was sure there was no way she could possibly reciprocate so he did his best to tamp it down and focus on other things. then the Wyndham trial starts and he has plenty to take his mind off his feelings for Elle.
but then. she takes him shopping. she buys him the nicest suit he’s ever worn to say thank you for all the help he’s given her over the course of the year. what she really does is help him in the same way he’s helped her; the suit unlocks a confidence in him that wasn’t there before and leads to him reaching his full potential. and on top of that, she tells him that while he looks good, she wouldn’t change a single about the person he is. she likes him for him, just now he’s wearing an expensive suit.
and that’s the moment when everything really slides into focus in Emmett’s head. he knows that he’s completely head over heels for Elle and he can almost feel that she has similar feelings for him. which, of course, is why he goes in for the kiss at the end of that song, because he’s ready and he wants this with her.
