Being sick a week before an audition is so fun I love fighting a “will they won’t they” with my body over whether or not I’ll be better in time. And like, yea, typically I can sing over illness, I know how, but it’s not something you ever want to do. Especially not for an audition. And especially not with the pieces I’m bringing, and my already cripplingly low self confidence.
Luckily where I’m auditioning knows me. They trust me and have faith in me. But still…
Ngl nothing makes me more flattered than my vocal coach telling me I should allow myself to take a breath in my melismas and that she’s shocked I can do them without breathing. Makes me feel strong and cool.
