So the back story for this piece is that it was supposed to be an illustration for the second book in a series I was working on 4 years ago. I did the first book and I started working on the second and had some sketched done including this one when my health failed me( the result of a lot more complicated events that involve personal family drama that I don't want to get into) and I had to step away from the project. I always regretted it cause I really loved the sory and Joanna was a breeze to work with. At the start of this year I came to the realization that I had only painted 5 pieces in 2025 and 3 of them were really small and simple😩 Mostly because last year I took on very little freelance work and focused on my job, but still it is incredible low for me. So I want to do better this year. To start on that path I went looking through all my folders for sketches that I intended to paint and I found this one too. I decided to throw it in the mix, because I thought that with this playful composition it can become a nice portfolio piece.
