my confession is even if cr doesnt really discuss the episodes before the briarwood arc, and i get why, the underdark arc is among my favorite of c1. it is such a classic dnd story & dungeon crawl to immerse people into the show before getting more complex, and i genuinely love the scrappiness of their beginning, with paper maps and that shitty but cute geek & sundry studio (i love the saga comic in the back in some episodes). matt is so good at making the underdark deeply immersive & mysterious, probably one of the best iterations of it ive seen, and clarota would be one of my favorite npcs in a world where he was more relevant to things nowadays. matts acting for him off the bat is one of his best roles - sucking IN while talking OUT is insane and we need to talk about that more.
