re: your tags about DW and Jodie’s Thirteen, I agree also but managed to watch the series. It seems like this series will have an arc which I think was the biggest thing that lacked with her first. There was no real mystery/threat like with The Master arc in season 3 for example! But it’s definitely not you that feels that way! Fingers crossed this season has that! 😊
I totally agree, it missed mainly two things: a doctor big moment (I love those moments) such as eleven in the rings of Akhaten.

and last but so important “everybody lives Rose” in the doctor dances
it’s just examples (some of my favorites) but all the others doctors had at least one of those moment every seasons.
And yeah we were missing a real villain! Nine got the Daleks, in his first season ten got daleks and Cybermen, twelve got the master (and missy’s the best) and Eleven got a Big Bang (and pretty much all his enemies). For a first season you must give us something big, I think what they did was fine for the people who were not huge fan of doctor who.
I truly hope next season will give us some old classic doctor who, more fun moments, and more of the doctor saving the universe (we didn’t get a real danger either)!
