HAPPY CLAMP DAY!!

I had to work late yesterday and today so this got pushed back a bit but I couldn't go without drawing my best girl this month! I recently saw a sparkling water drink at an Asian grocery store last week and obviously I had to try it. I usually hate sparkling water but this tasted more like a fruity soda than TV static, so I thought it would be fun to draw an outfit based on the drink.

Because of the peach and lychee flavors, I drew a lot of inspiration from the actual fruits. I was especially captivated by the red leathery skin of the lychee and given that the brand of the sparkling water was called "Ocean Bomb", I thought I could texture it like fish scales. To further push that lychee motif, I used the seeds as little dangling beads on the pearl chains that hang off Sakura's coat, umbrella handle, and boot.

For the peach, I wanted to stay away from pink tones since I was gonna use it in a different way and went with that more sunset palette to make her top and skirt pop more. I also incorporated a pink peach blossom pendant for her coat and added more floral motifs by using them as the tails on the fish charms and patterning on her umbrella. However, I couldn't resist using a cherry blossom as the decoration at the top of the umbrella since that is Sakura's namesake. Bubbles were then added in to tie in that ocean theme, like ripples on the water's surface, and also give it a soda pop or sparkling vibe so I hope this looks pretty decent.
