Oops, you’re not Asian.
*me, sitting with my group in Calculus*;*silently working*
a girl beside me who is clearly of Asian descent, and has been adopted: It’s all good, just going at a steady wiggle.....steady wiggle.(calculus affects the brain in strange ways)
Me:..............*sudden thought hits* Oh my God.
Asian adoptee: What?
Me:*trying desperately to keep my laughing to a minimum* In an Asian accent, “steady wiggle” sound like “steady we go”. Did you do that on purpose?
Asian adoptee:........no. I can’t say I know what an Asian accent really sounds like enough to do that.
Me:...*awkward silence as I return to my work*
