FJDKSFJD I somehow missed this?? My bad, hoss. ANYWAY, so @cobrakaiforlife and I have thought that instead of going to college for coding, Hawk is obviously a WILD story teller (in part because of our speculation of what he tells his parents, as well as his version of events in the Cobra Kai game), and so he actually ends up in college for screen writing to write wild action movies and hacker scenes that aren’t total bullshit. And Miguel loves going to the movies, so I bet they’re big into going to the movies every single Saturday. And Miguel usually lets Hawk pick the movie because he’s pretty go with the flow and just likes hanging out with him, but Hawk is way more picky and has actors that he just cannot watch. And Hawk absolutely does not understand Miguel’s love of putting things *in* his popcorn, so they have to get separate popcorn containers, but they do put the arm up in between their seats to sit closer to one another. Hawk talks shit about scenes that are stupid, and Miguel splits his time between shaking his head over Hawk complaining about how unrealistic stuff is and mean mugging at people who shush them. One time Miguel tried to suggest they go to Golf N Stuff, and Hawk teased him about it mercilessly for like a week because he remembered Miguel telling him that Sensei said he takes all his babes there, and so there was a lot of “Oh, so you think I’m a babe, huh?” out of Hawk, and Miguel rolling his eyes but also turning scarlet because Hawk is calling him TF out. Anyway, they didn’t go to Golf N Stuff because Hawk also reminded Miguel that he got banned after what the Cobras did. Miguel *did* however call him ‘Babe’ for the first time after this, and Hawk didn’t tease him that time. It became Miguel’s go to pet name for Hawk after that. Other than that, I think their favorite place to just hang out is the beach. Sometimes they hit up a taco truck and park the Sentra and just chill on the hood eating, sometimes they end up in the water. One time Hawk told Miguel that he thought it would be cool to learn how to surf, until Miguel was like ‘Yeah, you say that until some wave ruins your ‘hawk,’ and Hawk flung sand at him after that because Miguel started teasing him about trying to beat up the ocean, and did an impression of Hawk calling the wave a pussy that was actually much better than Hawk would ever admit to because Miguel is a smug punk.

No, I haven't. I finally found a nice schedule I've been working on. So barring anything happening, I won't get there until early next month.

But here's a few quick caps I snapped up for you. Hope they help for whatever you need.

Honestly my favorite moment between them is when Miguel goes to Hawk after Coyote Creek to check in with him and reaffirm their friendship.

Like, let’s not forget that Miguel is still low key pining for Sam (even though he’s with Tory so like, for shame dude), and that alone is enough to give a 16 year old boy reason to be pissed at his friend. It’s like, bro, you’re jeopardizing my chances of winning her back here. Not to mention the shame it brought to Johnny to have Daniel LaRusso come into his dojo and rightfully raise hell. Like Miguel has his reasons to be mad about Hawk trashing Miyagi-Do and stealing the Medal of Honor, both personal and on behalf of the dojo.

But instead of harping on that, or even harping on it at all, he challenges Hawk on the field of battle, wins, and then goes to Hawk the next day and says “are we cool?” Why? Because he’s worried Hawk is mad at him. Even though Hawk, arguably, screwed up, and even though that screw up embarrassed Johnny and made him and the dojo look like assholes, Miguel’s biggest concern after the fact is his friendship with Hawk. Did their fight fracture it? Did he go too far in finishing him? Is Hawk gonna be pissed at him? Does Hawk have a good reason to be pissed at him considering how Miguel “finished” him?

And instead Hawk just gives him the “we were enemies for a day, we’re Cobra Kai for life” line and they’re totally cool after that. I just think it’s such a powerful testament to their friendship and their bromance. Like, Miguel could’ve harbored anger. Hawk could’ve been all “dude, what the hell, you’re gonna put Miyagi-Do over us??” But neither of them do. Idk, it’s just a really great moment for me and makes me all 🥺 over them.

People are afraid of their power as the most ferocious and most stylish couple.

I’m only half kidding.

I would guess it’s because people have an affinity for long-time-friends-to-lovers type couples, and so the default ship for Hawk becomes Elimetri. Which is cool, but idk man... to me, Demetri just kind of ran roughshod over Eli before Miguel showed up, and doesn’t respect Hawk’s transformation from Eli into Hawk (his derision about it is pretty clear in season 1/early season 2) and that’s not really a great basis for a relationship IMO?

Also, the show has done a pretty thorough job of putting Miguel in the middle of the Sam/Tory feud which is sad because like, their dynamic is actually more interesting when there isn’t a boy in the center of it. So I think it’s a combination of Heteronormativity Strikes Again™️ and Elimetri having a nostalgia factor that Migueli doesn’t have.

(Also a factor: all the Hawk hate... which, that’s a novel unto itself, and you know where I stand on that!)

That being said, Hawk is ready to throw hands at everyone who breathes wrong in Miguel’s direction. Miguel was genuinely concerned enough about his and and Hawk’s status to check in with him after Coyote Creek. Neither of them thought twice about forgiving each other. And they coordinate their wardrobes. Also, we have the creme de la creme of ship armor: Xolo and Jacob ship it 🤷🏻‍♀️

First and foremost: Migueli. We are a small but mighty raft.

My other unpopular Cobra Kai ship? Johnny/Amanda. I have four whole interactions between them, and one of them is just Johnny laughing as she tears into Kreese, but I just want them to get drunk on bad beer together and swap wild stories from their 20s and then have a sloppy makeout session. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Other than that... I don’t really ship anything too unpopular. My unpopular Riverdale ship is Cheronica, so I guess that counts.
